Small town NW of Indianapolis. Woman's husband files for divorce and goes to sleep in the basement. She then waits for him to go to sleep, then kills their 2 young children, stabs herself with a knife, then calls 911 and tells them what she has done.

Obviously this woman underwent some kind of stress induced psychosis that caused her to react the way she did, or is suffering from some kind of long-term mental illness that allowed her to remain functional socially at least for a time.

The woman's FB profile is still active, but I warn you that you probably shouldn't look at it unless you want to be haunted by the faces of those two innocent children.

Just shocking and so very sad for all involved.

Husband was awakened by the police upon their arrival and had no idea why they were there. He was asleep. . .

How very sad! I hate it for all those involved. The loss of the small children and a father who lost his children.

I cannot comprehend how this is remotely possible!!!

Unless, you can accept that there IS evil forces in this world.....I can at least comprehend that.

This woman had to plan this....she had to plan HOW she was going to do it.....WHEN she was going to do it....WHAT instrument she was going to use.......then to ACTUALLY do it!!!!

No, PH.......I do not want to even see the faces of these children.  I was sickened to even HEAR about this.

Very sad indeed.  As a mother of so many children, and losing a couple of marriages in my lifetime, I could NOT imagine removing the kids from this world to either get back at the man leaving me, or to keep him from taking them from me.   Life can be boring, monotonous, extremely stale, but life is still precious and no one has the right to just take it especially from the innocents who trust us to care for them.  :(
Looks like I've come full circle.

Sad situation, but our society doesn't help matters.

It's estimated that approximately 25% of our population has mental health problems - and that's not to mention that approximately 50% of our population has a sub 100 IQ - and as a nation we fail to do what we need to do to address either of those issues.

The problem with that is our nation in general is narcissistic and self centered due to our primarily capitalistic outlook and economic system and our fear of socialistic or communistic approaches for the betterment of our society as a whole.

We, as a nation, tend to look at what benefits ourselves individually economically and socially as opposed to what benefits us as a society economically and socially.

Ergo, selfish actions such as this case are to be expected because they are not addressed by society at large with the exception of authoritarian measures - i.e., incarceration.

A sad situation all the way around.

"You've probably noticed that opinion pollsters go out of their way to include as many morons as possible in surveys ... I think it's dangerous to inform morons about what their fellow morons are thinking. It only reinforces their opinions. And the one thing worse than a moron with an opinion is lots of them." -- Scott Adams

Very sad situation. A doctor I had gone to at one time also committed suicide on a father's day a few years because of a divorce but didn't take his kids with him thank goodness.
