It's been a little over two years since we bought the Goldwing, still love it, and I am reminded of that fact every time I get it out.

Retired a little over a year now, and enjoy every day.  Even the bad days retired are better than the good working days.

Been one year since we bought the house in Boone Co, and we still love the house and area.  Glad we made the move.

Still haven't sold the old house yet.  You can't win 'em all, but it will eventually get sold. :confused:

The past year and a half or so have been a very busy time for us, but also quite exciting and interesting.  We had lived in the same area most of our lives, so uprooting and making the change was a pretty big deal.  No longer being employed was also a big switch, but that was what allowed us to make the changes we needed and wanted to make.  No regrets for either of us, as life is finally getting how we want it to be,  To say we are very fortunate is an understatement.  All the years of past sacrifices and just general life are now paying off.  We may not be rich monetarily, but we are rich with satisfaction.  And that is a damned good feeling. :smile:

442 that sounds awesome and I am very happy for you....I look forward to those days, but I still have two 11-year olds to raise..THEN I hoped to experience what you are now.

Needless to say, the past two

  It is going on 15 years for me.  Like you said it is great.  Worked for a great company like you and a good pension.  Good health except for my back.  I fell after a ice storm and screwed up my back.  It has really messed up my life.  Going to doctors for it and working out in a gym trying to fix it.

  So 442 watch out very carefully and don't fall,  Watch ladders, had a friend fall off of one and screwed up his back and like me a friend fell on glare ice and it got his back.

  Even after all of this life is great.  So don't lay down and grow old.   :biggrin:

I'm happy somebody got to retire. Unfortunately, I don't think I will EVER be able to retire. I will die in harness. . . Guess I'll get to enjoy life after it is over. . .  :mad:

  I have no real idea of what you went through.  But I'll bet it really burns your butt how George W. and his Republican Party and the stock market screwed you and the country.

  You did everything right and I did it to and I lost $63,000 out of my retirement fund in George W's stock market bust.  Damn I hate them.  :knife:

Troll, I did the ladder crash and burn a few years ago, ending with a spiral break of my right leg.  Never heard the aluminum giving away, just saw myself dropping down :eek:  Now it is only wood or fiberglass ladders, and then they better be set up correctly.

ME, we didn't get any big trips in this summer on the bike, not even and overnighter.  We had to make a run out west to pick up our grand-dog, so we took the car.  Too busy to go anywhere else.  A motorcycle trip IS in the plan for next year though.  ;D
