Why is it that people who don't like animals always have to say cruel things about animals??? OK.... us animal lovers get the fact that you don't like animals but STFU!!! We don't wanna hear it!!! Just because you don't like animals doesn't mean there is anything wrong with those of us who do!!! Just because you don't like animals doesn't give you a right to abuse, torture, and kill them for fun!!! People who do shit like that make me sooooo mad. Here's a little story....
Today, at work I was telling a coworker about a little kitten I found the other day. Several other coworkers chimed in with their unsolicited opinion, and it lit my fuse!!! Here's the conversation that ensued.... please note... Dexter is a very laid back person with a hair trigger temper, when it comes to the subject of my furry companions :icon_twisted:
Dex says to Joe..."I found the cutest little kitten in my driveway."
Travis butts in... "You should have run over it... I hate cats."
Dex's fuse has been lit...
Dex.. "Not in my driveway you don't!!!" very bitchy tone :icon_twisted:

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with loving your pets, and having compassion for animals!!!! People who don't like animals ,can't love animals, because they haven't got a heart. :no:

My cats are a huge part of my life. For some reason people think there is something wrong with people who have multiple cats. I get looks of scorn when I push my cartload of pet food through Walmart every week. Hey... I work hard for my money, and I'll buy whatever the hell I please. The strays didn't ask to be born. The shelters are over crowded ,and they won't take any more strays. We can't let them starve fer cryin' out loud. I'd rather spend my money on cats, than booze, drugs or cigarettes. :yes:

I'm right there with you. Our pets are part of the family, cats and dogs. It is my obligation, and pleasure to take care of them during their lifetime.

I totally agree. I woulda been offended too. You don't have to justify your love for your pets. I feel the same way about mine and I have children.
Some little boy in the neighborhood said that Benji is ugly in front of me. A lot of not very nice things were on the tip of my tongue, but instead I said, "that's not very nice, how would you feel if someone said that to you" and he said, "he doesn't know what I said because he's just a dumb dog". I said, "whether he knows or not, I don't know, but I know what you've said about him is mean and uncalled for". He rolled his eyes and walked off. He didn't know it, but Lil' Mojo on the other hand was ready to slug him. :biggrin:

Yesterday it happened again. One of our managers has a rambunctious dog. He chewed her glasses up LMAO!!! AGAIN!!!! This is 2 pairs in the last couple of months. :spooked: Anywho.... she was telling us about it, and once again we got Travis' unsolicited opinion....

Everybody just stood there, and stared at him. There was jaw dropping silence.
Karma is a real bitch.... that night when he walked out in to the parking lot after his shift, the cops were waiting for him. They arrested him for stalking his wife for the hundredth time. Ha ha... bit him in the ass real hard. ROFLMMFAO!!! :biggrin:
In case anybody wonders... Travis is the one that went to jail after he beat his wife up. There's more about his situation in my job venting thread. I was in total support of him but..... obviously his stint in jail changed him greatly. He's not the same guy I used to work with. He never used to be sooooo cruel. He's horribly bitter and extremely negative. And he's on a lot of dope, and I think he's doing it while he's at work. He wont be returning for a while, his bond is $1,000. He'll still have a job though my boss is very tolerant..... as she should be... considering some of it's her fault. :rolleyes:
His wife should use a taser on him, that stops them real quick and maybe he'll stop stalking her. ;D

Some people are just cruel. As in above about the man who wanted to taser the dog..... he also wasn't very kind to his wife.
Also some people who have never owned a pet can"t understand the love we have for them. I know the pets are not my kids but I love them.

My pets are my children. It seems rather sad, that people treat innocent animals, as if their life is less important than any living creature. :'(

I don't see anything wrong with treating your pets as children. I would be very sad if something happened to one of my cats, but I am afraid old age is about to take one of my cats. He is 22 years old. He was a rescue cat but I think he has had a great life and he deserved it.
Now just to jump back into the fire my little girl really, really wants a dog. I am thinking about a boxer. They are big, but kinda a gentle couch potato.
My feelings are that now she is 10 and is getting a little farther away from me the dog will help. If I were a child predator and I saw some kids and one had a big dog? Well I may not be afraid of the dog but I wouldn't want the hassle, there would be easier prey.
She will have to take him every place she goes.:smile:
Also when she is 16 and (maybe ) gets a car, She will have to drive, with the dog if possible, so that she doesn't ever have to go any place that she doesn't want to. I be sittin on my porch, by the crek, with my ole shot gun jest waitin... :toothless:

Almost forgot.. is Travis still in jail because of animal abuse? I am getting old and I forgot and I can't find the post about him. :-[

His wife cheated on him, and he lost his mind. He beat the hell outta her, and was sentenced to 3 months in jail. He served a month and a half. He has repeatedly stalked her, and has violated the restraining order around 6 times. He really went off the deep end. He tried repeatedly to kill himself. He also cut and burned himself at work in front of everybody. He just totally lost it. He has changed for the worst. He's still in jail, and I don't think he will be out very soon. I heard today that his bond is $3,000 cash.
BTW.... don't worry about getting off topic on my threads, that's what discussion is all about. :thumbsup:
This Travis sounds like a wonderful guy. He needs to stay in jail for a long time.

I would think eventually he will get some "real" jail time. He's been in county lock up serving his time thus far. I would think the judge is getting very tired of dealing with him. Eventually, he'll go to statesville. Either that or a mental health facility. :spooked:
What about the "3 strikes out" law? Maybe in some states it is a "100 strikes and you are out" law? :confused:

We must not have that law here. I know people who constantly get arrested. I think the "3 strikes law" pertains to violent crimes? :confused: So, Travis has 1 strike? :confused:
I guess it would be felony's and not misdemeanors. I am not sure that I would know the difference except murder is a felony.

Ya know... it's soooo sad because he use to be a good guy. He and his wife have 2 kids, and they've been together for years. She wanted to get married, so they did,and 2 months in is when everything blew up. She cheated on him, and that's where they are now. It all came to a head. :no:
