Title: i need help with a book cover...
Post by: ~vxn~ on May 04, 2008, 04:35:20 PM
i've made many.  not sure about any.  picked 4 of the main different kinds.  i would like opinions... what's the best, worst, or they all just plain suck.   [smilie=hate-wall.gif] i hate being so indecisive.

a little background for the book:  poetry collection.  madness.  insanity.  i think i want the cover to look a little "busy".  this is the second book in the "Madness" collection.  (there is a "Dark" collection.  a "Death" or "Unrest" collection will follow a third book in "Madness".)

the more i look at this one, the more i hate it.

hello, mausoleum.

there's someone hiding by the door.

I like the second one best...don't really know why; maybe just for its dark simplicity.

(I still chuckle every time I read your middle initial and last name together...some things just never get old.)

I like the 3rd one because of the red color.  it makes it stand out more.....then my second choice would be the 2nd one.

e, that is the exact reason i use my middle initial.  thank you for still being amused by that.  lolol....

thanks for the input kids...

i think the red text stands out and perhaps the white will just blur into the background.  i'll try a few more variations... (i took a few other mausoliem shots that may work as well...)

ok, a couple more.  i might definitely like this cover the best:

not sure which of the following back covers i like more (if either, if at all).  the words in red are the chapter names:

darker chapter names, not mausoleum:

Well, I'm gonna stick my 2cents worth in here.  I like the first one better too.  The picture in the middle kind of draws the eyes to it and, IMO, piques the curiosity more as to what's inside the cover.  I personally would pick up the book with that cover on it to check it out before I would the others.

I think the picture of the mausoleum piques my interest too. It makes you wonder what kind of darkness lies between the covers.  :o  :spooked:
