I love finding old friends. What's even better is when THEY find YOU!
My childhood best friend, Teressa, was one of my first best friends in life, meeting at the age of 7 and inseperable until I moved to Anderson when we were almost 11. We shared everything: our passion for books, drawing, rocks, treehouses (though I preferred to stay on the ground while she waved from above), even birthdays (I'm 3 days older). We spent every weekend at eachothers houses, and my parents even got her her own gigantic teddybear after she fell in love with mine (Rosanna - pink, Snowbelle - white). When I moved away, we left Snowbelle behind with Teressa. I still have Rosanna. After I moved, we kept in touch through the mail (3 letters a week from both of us) until we were about 14, when we pretty much lost touch.
16 years later, after many thoughts of her, and wondering how she was doing, I get a surprise email from her through MySpace!
Its funny when I think about how I've been whining that my life isn't what I'd ever expected, and then I get her message and get a chance to see what she's been up to. Surprisingly, our lives are similar but very different. We are both married (to guys named AARON!) and both in the (different areas of) professional world (she writes grant proposals, while I've been researching them...). She has no kids, but has her dogs (not surprised). She is a vegetarian, and I'm very close (and I did go completely vegetarian for a year, but started eating chicken again about a year ago, and occasionally red meat, but not often). She still draws, I don't, but her drawings and paintings are incredible! She was the one who taught me to draw a face that looked like a face, and castles, among other things.
Its awesome to hear from someone who was practically a sister for so many years. The best part is she still lives in our hometown, which I've been ready to go back for a visit and now I think I have found my reason!
That is sooooo kewl, Daisy! You are lucky--hope you two have lots of fun getting to know each other again!
Oh its been a blast!
And now with the holidays looming before us--it will be travel time soon enough and ya'll can hook up!
We are meeting halfway in Edinburgh, IN at this huge outlet mall in 3 weeks. We're going shopping and for lunch at her favorite Indian restaurant nearby. :D
Sounds wonderful, Daisy!
Did you add me again?
Oh I guess I should log on!
Daisy, I just found 2 of my best friends from jr. high and high school on myspace....I think I'm hooked now...lol
Congrats on your friend finding you!!! It's awesome, isn't it?
Yes it is! I've found a lot of people I haven't talked to in ages on there!
I was recently reunited with another childhood friend who moved to San Diego in middle school. She lives in Seymour, IN now! LOL
