This past weekend the Westboro freaks were in my little hometown protesting at a funeral and I was out of town. Damn it. Ever since I heard of these people, I've been thinking of what I would do if they came to protest here, and I missed it. Fortunately, many of my fellow Valdostans did their part to honor a fallen soldier.
I thought they past a new law which would not allow them to do that?
I'm not sure. Like I said I wasn't there, but it was in our local paper and also I've talked to a few people that witnessed it. I don't know the magnitude of the protest but apparently there were some there. You can go to their website, www.godhatesfags.com and they post when and where they will protest in the coming weeks.
They truely are sick people.
Actually I just saw the newspaper article and it said they were a no show, so I guess I didn't miss out.

QuoteCitizens lined Ann Street, holding American flags as the motorcade proceeded into Sunset Hill Cemetery. Best Buddies of Valdosta handed out around 200 American flags, and many people brought full-size flags which they stretched out along the street.
One police officer said police weren't worried about the protesters; they were worried about the South Georgians who said they would beat them up, should they appear.
That's how we roll.
I saw that Insane, I wanted to do something too. But didn't know what the hell to do.... Bastards.... :icon_evil:
FCM they are protected under the Constitution to protest. No one likes their message, but to take it away would open the door to take that right away from anyone who has a message that we don't like. "We" meaning "we the people" and the government. Although, I think I've seen some areas enact a regulation regarding the distance from a funeral which must be maintained by the protesters.
These kooks protested at the WV Sago mine funerals. Their position was that God created the Sago mine disaster because of his displeasure that our servicemen/woman are fighting a war for a country that supports homosexuality. I took a look at their site and I'm not sure if it was that event or another one in WV, but apparently they were mobbed at some point by a large number of West Virginians. There's also a motorcycle group of veterans that voluntarily travels around, at the request of the family, to drown out the sound of the protesters w/the sound of their bikes.
That must have been what I remember hearing.
You gotta love those biker guys, I sure give them a whooooooo hoooooo!
Apparently from reading my hometown forum, many residents around here sent them emails begging them to come. I guess that could be why they didn't.
A woman from that church was on FOX News last week. She said the same thing about the little Amish girls that were murdered. That God did that to punish them and their families for their sins. I hate they even let that crazy bitch on the news to spread that crap!
I would like to compare the sins of Westboro to the sins of the Amish and see who actually would deserved this more. This may sound cruel, but the next person that snaps and goes to shoot up a public place would do humanity a service by going to Westboro.
I can't believe one or more of them haven't been killed already. It'll happen sooner or later I'm sure.
And when it comes time for one of their funerals...

That's the thing though. As bad as they've been, normal, decent people wouldn't show up at one of their funerals to protest. Maybe to party a little, but not protest.

Well I don't claim to be decent or normal, but I would not take the high road on this one. I would show up there and spew out as much hate as they do...even if I just had a sign that said "God Loves Fags." Then again I'm fairly lazy.
ROFLMAO!
