Seems like the right place to share your ideas, suggestions, and whatever else you'd like to tell us about growing a garden!

I've always wanted a basil patch--not only is it great to cook with but it provides great coverage, is a fast-grower and reseeds itself.
So many different varieties as well.
In the autumn--it gets about 4 feet high and bursts into beautiful purple and light orchid flowers.
Whenever you brush past it or a nice wind speed builds up--the scent is heavenly.

Here is my much longed-for basil patch!

I will have to get some, especially if it covers well.

I have taken a few pictures of this vine that is on my deck.  It was here when I got here.  It has the prettiest purple flowers on it.  It might take me a while before I can get it on here.  I can't find my battery charger for my camera!

I plant basil between my tomato plants to keep the tomato worms off and it seems to work plus I can dry it in the fall and use it for cooking in the winter...

Our garden produced 3 mild banana peppers thus far...everything else above ground has been eaten by creatures. *shrug*

I've just received a bucket of fresh figs, several eggplants and yellow squash, cucumbers and bell peppers!  So now I'm off to find some fig recipes.  I'd like to do something different other than the preserves--and you have to work fast with fresh figs since they are so delicate they will bruise and go bad quickly.
Ideas?

Well, I took some of the firmer figs, scooped out a little hole in the top and stuffed it with a little goat cheese and wrapped in procuttio (sp?) and skewered them and put em on the grill--YUMMY!   :smitten:
