Title: What is your all time favorite song?
Post by: Dexter Morgan on June 24, 2007, 06:09:53 PM
Everybody has a favorite song they listen to. What's yours??? My favorite song  is You Sang to Me= by Marc Anthony. It's very hard to pick just one song.

Hmmm....mine would be either a James Taylor or Carole King song.

"You've Got a Friend"...

"Natural Woman"...

along those lines.

I have way too many to list. Also, the genre varies depending on my mood, but my current favorite song is Clint Black's "Like the Rain".

Ooh I love Maggie May!! I think if I ever had a daughter, that would be a possibility for a name.

I can't really say I have one single all time favorite song. It pretty much depends on my mood. But its safe to say that its of classic rock genre, or maybe Coldplay, so I'll list a few..

In My Life -- The Beatles
Sympathy for the Devil -- Rolling Stones
Sittin on the Dock of the Bay -- Otis Redding
A Rush of Blood to the Head -- Coldplay
You're No Good -- Linda Rondstad
You're So Vain -- Carly Simon
Fat Bottom Girls -- Queen
Reign O'er Me -- The Who
Jupiter -- Holst (from The Planets)
Rocky Mountain Way -- Joe Walsh

Get the idea?LOL

I love all of CCR's music. I like the Cotton Fields Back Home.  It's one of my favorites. Lodi is a good one too. There's been many a party where that music was played.

Another favorite I haven't heard in years but have always loved

Every Breath You Take -- The Police

I remember as a kid hearing my sisters boyfriend dedicate this one to her on the radio. She married him and he turned out to be a total ass, but I never forgot the gesture, and have loved the song since I was a small child.

No, that song makes me cringe. It is a good song,  I've known girls like the one in that song and they're scary. :spooked:

It's the one where she describes people waking up and realizing that they need to make changes rather than waste their lives and they actually do it.

Here's the link to her site. For me, it's the 1st song that plays.

I love Etta James!

I saw awol's response and I started thinking about the song that really would be my all time favorite and I still can't come up with one, but I can probably pick a genre, sort of. I love Jazz and Blues. I listen to everything. More often than not, I have country, metal, alternative, oldies, classical, talk radio all programmed on my car radio, but the music that touches my soul the way music should is Jazz and Blues.

I've mentioned loving Hendrix and Vaughn. I like Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Keb Mo,  and  more obscure blues artists that I won't mention, because no one ever knows who they are.

I'd be hard pressed to name one favorite, but right now I'm listening to Carlos Santana and I'd say he's top of my list, definitely. When he plays he gets into a zone and you can't tell where he ends and the guitar starts. I love his music.

Cocaine is a song written by Oklahoma singer-songwriter J.J. Cale, and most notably covered by Eric Clapton on his 1977 album Slowhand.

His son Conor fell out the window of the building in New York where his mother was living at the time.

He never had a son who od'd (although I often wondered why Clapton himself never did, considering the amount of cocaine, heroin, and alcohol he consumed).

He wrote the song "Tears in Heaven" after his little boy died. Every time I hear that song, it makes me think of the anguish he went through. If I remember right, he actually saw the child fall. That would be a horrible thing to have to live with.

Your right. It shouldn't. It does take balls for me to say what I mean, because I think soo differently than everybody else, that people think I'm a freak. So, I try to keep a low profile. I "talk" a lot here, but in real life I'm a very quiet, reserved individual. You can turn off the computer, but you can't turn off real life. If you know what I mean.
