Everybody knows I'm from west central Illinois. It's interesting reading all the different posts. Sometimes weather is discussed and different restaurants and bussinesses. Sometimes I find myself thinking, Gee, I wonder where that poster lives. Lets have it,clue me in guys!!!!
Fuquay Varina, North Carolina. Yep that is the name! It is about 20 minutes south of Raleigh, North Carolina. One and a half hours from the beach and three hours from the mountains. Just perfect if you ask me!

It sounds like a wonderful place to live. I always wanted to see the mountains out there. What is the climate like out there. I bet the scenery is breathtaking.

My husband lived in Sandusky for a while, before we got together. He said it's really a nice place to live. He told me they have allot of amusement parks out there. It sounds like a blast. Do you travel allot???

Unfortunately, I've been through several. Even dating back to Andrew in 1992. Hurricanes suck. Not only do the storms suck, but the aftermath sucks even worse.
about nine months a year
Central Indiana. Woo hoo. Yawn.
Central Indiana here too. Originally from Wyoming though.
Ooh very cool. Thats a state I'm interested in seeing.
If you ever get a chance to go there I can tell you places to check out for sure. Lander is where I was born and it, IMO, is beautiful.
Dexter - living in the middle of the state (Peidmont) I get the hot and humid southern air. The coast is a few degrees cooler than I am usually with more of a breeze because of the beach. The mountains are generally about 10 - 15 degrees cooler than we are depending on the time of year. They consistantly see snow each winter.
Sunny and I know all about the amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio! We used to get every summer together!

I can't even imagine what it would be like. You see the devestation on the news, but you don't grasp it unless you've been through it. When they interview people who have lost everything , I cry right along with them. I feel so bad for them. It's definately Mother Nature at her worst.

Wow!!! What is the temperature like today in Peidmont??? I think it's cool that you and Sunny know each other. Did you girls meet on The Zone, or before The Zone???

I don't think so even though she does look familiar like I've seen her around.
It is in the upper 80's and lower 90's today.
Sunny and I have known each other for over 20 years. We used to twirl baton together! But we really knew each other well in High School! My ex- fiance and her ex-boyfriend were good friends.
San Diego, CA
Prior to moving here I lived on the east coast in Baltimore Md and prior to that I lived in WV. I've lived in southern, eastern and the western portions of WV and all small towns.
Baltimore is a great location because it's so close to other major cities such as Philly or DC. The beach was a drive though because of the way you have to go to get to it. The humidity in the summer was awful as was the frigid conditions in the winter. We suffered the aftermaths of hurricanes also, but nothing like what Locutus has to deal with, I'm sure.
San Diego is much different. Like Kimmi said, being close to the coast has the advantage of being much cooler, so we have very warm days, but there's always a nice breeze. I can be at several different beaches within minutes. The mountains are all around and if we drive a couple hours north we can have snow. I haven't been yet, but someone was telling me about a place called Black Bear mountain were there's snow. There's a place on the mountain where you can stand and see the hot desert in one direction and the ocean in the other. That's perfect. LOL

I bet you girls gave'em hell with those batons LOL!!! It's cool you girls have been friends for so long.
We were quite good! ;) It was good to find someone I know online to chat with. I guess that made coming to forums and chats a little less "cyberish"!

Ugh. That makes me feel soooo old. And it may be even closer to 30 years. :o But who's counting?
So, Dexter...to answer your question, I am from & recently moved back to NW PA.
Lived in FL for about 3 years & will take the snow storms over the hurricanes ANY day.

I think I'd take snow storms over hurricanes too. With hurricanes there is much more destruction. We do have some severe ice storms here, but it pales in comparison.
I'm yawning with Daisy......Central Indiana here too

No action in Central Indiana??? You'd think with the location there'd be allot of interesting things going on LOL!!!
I am in the same town as Daisy.....and yes I know her.
I used to live in the same town as Daisy but I do not know her. I now live in the county just south and I love it there.
Hancock County?
Hamilton
Ahh, were you affected by all that lightning the other day? I saw a few house fires from it on tv. Yikes!!
Kinda made me glad I'm not working right now, because it'd be a BUSY claims day!!
No we weren't affected by the lighting luckily. I am not even sure exactly where it was. Our house is about 2 miles southwest of verizon. It's just outside the Saxony development if you know where that is.
Yep I do. I love the area. I used to work on 116th St and being in insurance I'm pretty familiar with some neighborhoods.
