May your day be filled with love, compassion and blessings abound.
Take a few moments out of your hectic schedules to stop and ponder how magnificent you are.
Take a moment to do a random act of kindness. I am certain it will make you feel just a good as the person recieving the act of kindness.
Take a moment to listen to a child tell a story. Really listen to that child, you'd be amazed how they have it all figured out in their tiny little heads. Smiler
Take a moment to smile at a stranger, you never know, it may be the only smile they recieve all day long.
If married, take a moment to look at your spouse without their knowledge and let yourself become amazed with them all over again.
And last but not least, enjoy our full moon tonight. Take a moment to look up at the beautiful night sky tonight and become mezmerized in the awe of how beautiful it is and how it shines brightly over everyone you love, all over this earth.
These things only take a few moments out of your day but the positive effects it has on your soul could add years to your life.
Love,
Wickey Smiler
Thank You.......words to live by!
Excellant, Wickey.
Along with admiring your spouse, I'd add the one about never allowing Criticism in your house.
Thank you, Wickey! That was awesome!
Very good advice!
Wickey--I simply adore your avatar!! It rocks!
What do you do traditionally to celebrate Samhain? I know it's not with the boring pumpkins.......what do witches do to celebrate?

We all celebrate differently depending on what the meaning is to us. To me, it means a time to reconnect with all my ancestors who have gone before me. All the loved one's I have lost and I have lost a few this past year so it is especially emotional for me this year.
I like to cook most evenings but on this special evening, with the veil between the spirit world and ours being the thinnest, I like to prepare a really nice dinner and set an extra place at my table for all who have gone before me.
Pay close attention on this day. You will recieve signs and messages everywhere!! 8)
Daily dose for october 7
Take a look around today!!
Look at all the beautiful changing colors on the trees and how the fallen leaves cover the ground in an array of color.
Look up at the beautiful autumn sky and how clear and bright it is.
Look how the sun seems to "kiss" the world around us today.
Take a que from your kitties today and lounge around in a ray of sun, just soaking it all up while lazily daydreaming.
Look at your children and how the sun seems to dance on their shoulders and how it makes their eyes sparkle with wonderment.
Look at your significant other and how they seem to have a bounce in their step , a sway in their hips, and how all the different brilliant colors of their hair stand out in the sunshine.
Pay attention to how your doggies try different tricks to get you to take them for a walk on this beautiful day.
Take a moment to stop, look and listen to the autumn day. Close your eyes and breathe in the different smells while the sun carresses your face.
Well, would ya look at that? Is that a beautiful smile I see creeping across your face? Let it shine for everyone to see and have a Blessed day!!
Love,
The Witch
Wow! How healthy is that? I think I shall print this out and put it on the mirror--we all need a reminder of how wonderful this life of our is!
Heya Wickey! I was thinking of you yesterday! Not for any reason, just was.
~Wickey gushes~
Awww shucks, y'all know how to make a lady feel all warm and fuzzy... ;D
Are you happy to see us, or is that a broom stuck in your ass? LOLOLOL
I'm ALWAYS happy to see fellow members of my Sexy Bitch Club (tm)... ;D
HAHAHA!
Please focus on all positive things today. Great memories and wonderful people who have touched your lives.
Hug your family and tell them how much they are loved.
Call your friends and tell them how much they have enhanced your life and by all means, the next time you see them, HUG THEM TIGHTLY without feeling awkward. After all, our friends are the family we chose for ourselves.
Try to face each day with an open heart and love the one's you care about, with an unconditional devotion.
The best advice I can give today is follow your instincts and gut feelings. If something tells you not to do something, don't do it. Your intuition is your body's warning mechanism and is not to be taken lightly.
Scotty didn't want to go to Bloomington that weekend. He had a bad feeling about it and we tried to convince him to stay in town and have a get together so all the kids could play.
He had a bad feeling but was afraid if he turned down the overtime, he would lose his job. Instead he lost his life and now his daughter must only know her father from pictures and stories.
One thing is for sure, I know my gramma will look after Scotty, and help him to do whatever work is meant for him because she loved him dearly and he thought the world of her.
In love and light,
The Witch
I LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU READING THIS POST.
Those Born 1930-1979!
TO ALL THE KIDS
WHO SURVIVED the
1930's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's !!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while
they were pregnant.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and
didn't
get
tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby
cribs
covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we
rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took
hitchhiking
As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster
seats, seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special
treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
We shared one soft dri nk with four friends, from one bottle and
NO ONE actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank koolade made
with
sugar, but we weren't overweight because .
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING !
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we >were
back
when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day.
And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride
down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the
bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at
all,
no
150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or
CD's, no cell phon es, no personal computer! s, no Internet or chat
rooms......
WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
lawsuits from these accidents.
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in
us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays,
made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told
it
would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and kno cked on the door or
rang
the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't
had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of.
They actually sided with the law!
These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem
solvers and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned
HOW TO
DEAL WITH IT ALL!
If YOU are one of them . . CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow
up
as
kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our
lives for our own good
And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how
brave
(and lucky) their parents were.
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't
it?!
Thanks for the idea! I ran through the house with scissors and tripped fell and thank my lucky stars they just stuck in the wall....
I AM THANKFUL
FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.
FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA
BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.
FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME,
NOT ON THE STREETS.
FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM EMPLOYED.
FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.
FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.
FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE.
FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.
FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS
WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
FOR THE PARKING SPOT
I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION.
FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM WARM.
FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH
WHO SINGS OFF KEY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I CAN HEAR.
FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.
FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN
CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.
FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF
IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.
AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.
Live well, Laugh often, & Love with all of your heart!
Hi Wiccy! Hope you're doing well...
Hello everyone!! Long time no speak...lol
It has been crazy around my house.
First of all, my hubby is doing very well with no relapses. We are pretty sure we pinpointed what caused his breathing and oxygen levels to lower. We had bought some beautiful leather furniture from my sister and it had been inside her home with 4 smokers. My house smelled like an ashtray for weeks and we think it helped to make hubby sick.
My daughter got to experience acting for the first time. She was in the production of Peter Pan at our local Theactrical company. She loved it so much that she is now in rehearsals for her next performance. This one will be The Little Mermaid and it involves lots of singing and dancing.
I am performing for my first time in the upcoming production of DK Molar, The Devious Dentist. It is a melodrama and a comedy. I am playing a lady named Mrs. Polly Dent who, well let's just say, is having some difficulty with some strange voices in her head...lol
My part is very animated with lots of failed attempts at signing and dancing.
I hope everyone in Anderson gets to come out and see me. Performance dates are april 20-21 at 7pm and april 22 at 3pm at Lee's Theactrical Productions on 53rd street.
I also recently got to meet my 3 half sisters that I wasn't aware of until recently. We are fastly becoming close and it's nice to also get to know the man who is my father. I think I had to wait until I was a parent myself to better understand what he and my mother went through as young, married parents.
Life is going pretty well for me at the moment and I do hope to stay better in touch!!
In love and Light,
The Witch
Great to see you back out here Wiccy!
I am also very happy to read things are going well for you and your family. Break a leg at Lee's, and if we get the chance perhaps wife and I may try to catch your performance. 8)
It's always good to see you! I'm happy to see that lots of good things are keeping you busy. That's great news.
Peter Pan is one of my favorites. I've always enjoyed the hope (more than the concept) of never growing up. LOL Did she enjoy acting? I've never heard of "The Devious Dentist", but the character "Polly Dent" is familiar for some reason.
I've had the experience of meeting a sister that I knew about, but because of circumstances, had never met. She had NO idea I existed though. It is wonderful. The trips down memory lane and putting things together, etc. Congratulations!
BTW, if there's any way to record a piece of your performance and post a link that would be so wonderful. I'd love to see it, but I'm thousands of miles away.
Hubby will be front row with the video camera so I will post some footage. This play also goes by the title of "theres gold in them thar teeth" also. It's set back in the early 1900's.
Rehearsals have been so much fun. We keep cracking each other up...lol
This performance of Peter Pan was AWESOME!! They even had a special effects company out of Las Vegas to have the main characters fly.
Palehorse, it would be wonderful if your wife and yourself could come see the play!!
Hey wickey, how ya been?...
i may have to check out your play, Lees always puts on a good one...my wife was in one a year or so ago out there...she was in lil abner...it was pretty funny...
glad to hear things are doing okay for you...
I may reconize Palehorse from his pictures but everyone else may have to introduce themselves...lol
I would love sold out shows!! Lee's is the best thing to happen to Anderson in years. It's family owned and operated and they are growing more each year. It's a wonderful, inexpensive alternative to a movie and with live theater, anything could happen...haha
Great post on things to be thankful about, Wickey! I liked that.
You know, my brother in law has really bad asthma, as I've been whining about all week, and our apartment seems to have made it worse, with the cat hair and the former tenant was a smoker. I've cleaned up so much nicotine from walls, windows and closet doors, and its disgusting! (before anyone asks, we opted to bypass the apartment cleaners and do it ourselves, since that would have set us back a day of moving, a day we couldn't lose, and the rent was discounted.)
THE TRAIN
Some folks ride the train of life
Looking out the rear,
Watching miles of life roll by,
And marking every year.
They sit in sad remembrance,
Of wasted days gone by,
And curse their life for what it was,
And hang their head and cry.
But I don't concern myself with that,
I took a different vent,
I look forward to what life holds,
And not what has been spent.
So strap me to the engine,
As securely as I can be,
I want to be out in the front,
To see what I can see.
I want to feel the winds of change,
Blowing in my face,
I want to see what life unfolds,
As I move from place to place.
I want to see what's coming up,
Not looking at the past,
Life's too short for yesterdays,
It moves along too fast.
So if the ride gets bumpy,
While you are looking back,
Go up front, and you may find,
Your life has jumped the track.
It's all right to remember,
That's part of history,
But up front's where it's happening,
There's so much mystery.
The enjoyment of living,
Is not where we have been,
It's looking ever forward,
To another year and ten.
It's searching all the byways,
Never should you refrain,
For if you want to live your life,
You've gotta drive the train.
Damned right! How you doin', Wickey?
I'm good sweetie, just working weird hours lately.
How are you?
Just fabulous, sexy witch, just fab!
Every time I see my broom I think of you!
I sure have been sending you some positive energy for the last month or so!! I hope you're getting it sweetie. :)
I am, dahling. Much thanks!
Everyone here has been so very nice and kind--I don't deserve it but I'll take it!
Blessed be! :smitten:
