I thought this would be a good idea...I know from things that people have posted in the Magistrates thread on his own house that their are some great ideas among us. So here, we can talk about all things home and garden. My career is in architecture/real estate development/house flipping/and interior design. I don't know a thing about the garden part...but hopefully someone out there will!
I've got a few great ideas for threads and discussions here, and if you do too, feel free to start them!
This is fantastic. You certainly have the background for this. I would like to know if I can EVER get a pond that has a water generating fountain that does not need power to do it....is there anyway you can get the fountain to flow perpetually withoiut power?
hmmm...Not that I know of...
maybe a solar pump?

That is what I was going to say...we bought my mother-in-law a beautiful fountain for her meditteranean yard and it is solar powered. Works pretty well - when the sun is shining, of course.
I LOVE this idea, Gryphon -- I am an HGTV/TLC house-flipping, home improvement, intererior design junkie!
Dear Gryphon,
I could kill a silk plant, but I love the look that real plants give a home. Any suggestions?
Signed,
Guilty of Herbacide.
I like this idea for an area. With so many people moving and renovating, it's sure to be a hit.
I wish I could help you Ms Mojo...but I too am afflicted with a "brown thumb"
I have a family member who is great with plants and landscaping...Ill ask her for some suggestions of low maintenance, hard to kill plants.
Off the top of my head, spider plants are hard to kill, bamboo, and cactuses are low maintenance as well.
And aloe plants...great to have around...hard to kill!
I just noticed that I have started every topic in this "room". Please, feel free to start your own! My names on the door, but everyone is welcome to make it their own.
