Banishing Grief Spell

This spell is said to help one let go of painful feelings of grief. It is for those times in life when it seems impossible to feel joy again, such as after losing someone close to you.

Items Needed: A smoky quartz gemstone, bowl of water, three tablespoons of sea salt

The Spell:

Begine by holding the stone in your power hand. See your grief in your mind's eye. Visualize the grief moving from within yourself and through your hand to the stone. As you do this, say:

Banishing stone,
Fill yourself with my grief,
so that I may feel joy again,
So be it, blessed be!

Stirring counterclockwise, mix the sea salt into the bowl of water, then add the smoky quartz stone. Swish the stone around three times in a counterclockwise motion. Leave the stone in the water for a few minutes, then take the stone outside and safely throw it as far as you can away from yourself.

Calming chant

Chant this simple rhyme whenever you feel worried or scared.

I am peaceful,I am strong
Though dark may seem so long.
For day must follow every night,
Everything is alright.
I am always safe from harm,
The Goddess holds me in her arms.

Witch's healing candle spell

To help speed a recovery from illness, write the sick person's name upon a white human-shaped candle of the appropriate gender.

As you anoint it with three drops of myrrh or mint oil, visualize healing energy in the form of white light flowing from your hands into the candle and say:

In the divine name of the Goddess
Who breathes life into us all
I consecrate and charge this candle
As a magical tool for healing.

Place the candle on top of a photograph of the sick person and then light the wick.

As the candle burns down, concentrate upon the person in the photograph, willing him or her to be well again, and chant the following incantation:

Magick mend and candle burn,
Sickness end; good health return.

Take away pain

Place your right hand over the pain and circle three times counterclockwise and say the spell three times, once each time you circle your hand.

Goddes take away this pain as the clouds let out the rain

Anybody else have any tried and true means of naturally healing themselves? Witches refer to these things as spells but you can call them meditations or whatever you prefer.

For me ....healing takes place in the present time. You cannot heal yourself by dwelling in the past.

Very true!! I have always told my loved ones that you cannot ever have a future if you continue to live in the past. Of course you have to reconize your past and learn from it but you cannot dwell on it or else it will prevent you from going further in life.

All that said....we should never forget where we came from, and never forget to honor those who sent us this way.
