I will pay top dollar to anyone that can successfully send me 2 footlongs with sauce and cheese intact and a twist cone without it being melty!!
I could probably pull off the Eddie's thing without (too) much of a hitch...you'd have to figure out how to heat the stuff up & assemble...
But, can't think of a good solution for the Hank's custard...
...besides that, would you want the vanilla or the chocolate on top?
Good thinking! I don't know.
We have a chain down here called Goodberry's. Mike calls it the crack house. People line up down the street for the place. They say it is frozen custard, but I think they are full of it!
Interesting.
Somebody is opening a custard stand here in town...wonder if it'll remotely resemble Hank's or more like your place?
Isn't the trick in the machine?
Yes I think the machines are key! Why would someone try and open another ice cream place there when there is Hanks and a Dairy Isle in every little community? I sure do miss Dairy Isles! That was my weakness when I lived in Saegertown!
Isn't that the truth?!?!? I soooo missed having a Dairy Isle flat in the middle of nowhere while living in FL~LOL! Our options were mostly commercialized (e.g. The Ice Cream Shopppe, Dairy Queen, Brewster's).
I guess the town of Meadville doesn't really have one...just Dairy Queen in Vernon Township.*shrug*
That's right. No more Baskin Robbins. Is Bobbie's still at the downtown mall? I use the word mall loosely!
Oh, forgot about that Ice Cream stand...it's no longer Bobbie's -- not sure what it's called now.
Mall...loosely...!
Okay, so saw an ad in the area shopper...Bobbie's is called The Corner Cafe (or something close to that). Looks like they still have hand-dipped ice cream, but have expanded their lunch menu.
Oh, and I indulged for you this week, Kimmi. It's really bad being right next door to Eddie's every Tuesday & Thursday!
GRRRRR! I so wish I was going to go buy hotdogs right now. Instead I'm going to buy a lawn mower and teach myself how to mow a lawn! Yuck! :-\
So I read that Hanks is open. Go get some custard for me!
Sure will! Maybe even tonight. The 50's feel so...springy! 8) Definitely getting to be ice cream weather.
Eddie's has been opened for well over a month now, but I've yet to indulge.
How about FTW? Wonder if he's had his "works" yet?
BURRRRRPPP!!
Huh??
What??

50s is ice cream weather?!?!?? :spooked:
50's is shorts and sunscreen weather there Locutus!
What I wouldn't give for a sauce and cheese right now. Working out makes me hungry!
Sorry, but 50s is cold weather gear for me. ;D
Funny how our perspective is influenced by our environment, Loc. ;)
2 years ago, I'd agree with ya...50's was sweater wearing weather & time to turn the central air over to heat...
Up here, it's the sign of warmer days ahead & dairy isle eatin'! ;D
(good one, ftw...need a little lemon blend to wash that down with?!)
Large, please!!!
'Tis the season, NW PA folks! Hard to believe that Eddie's opened almost 2 weeks ago already. Haven't been there yet, but I swear I could smell them from a mile away the other day while getting out of the car at KMart. Is that possible?
I'm sure it is possible.
Finally broke down and had Eddie's for dinner tonight. Classic and delicious. :)
Did it make you want to go and get your old job back?
Almost. Those were the glory days....if it didn't come with complimentary 'onion odor' all summer I could've made a career out of it!
