Title: Money
Post by: IYT on March 02, 2007, 10:33:47 AM
It's a love/hate relationship.  I just did my taxes myself and according to my figures, I owe the gubment money.  Every single check I have received has been taxed, heavily IMO.  Of course I'm now sending it off to a professional to see if, hopefully I made a mistake.  Maxed out credit card, almost overdrawn in my bank account.  Why can't we live in a world where we all make money doing nothing?

My dad used to say that no matter how hard you work or how much money you make, at the end of the week, you're lucky to have $20 in your pocket. I guess those were the good ole days.

This is an interesting question. My first thought was that obviously we must have a method of bartering and trading (not only in but for the US and other countries) or it would be a free-for-all and the strongest and most cunning  would have and the weakest and dullest would not.  Although, as I type this, I wonder if it isn't that way anyway?  Not implying that you or I are dull and weak  ;D but there does seem to be a distinct difference between those at the top of the food chain and those at the bottom. Did they work harder, get lucky, are they more driven in relation to wealth?

I'm getting off topic I think. LOL
