Oh wow! Those are great!! You got a ton of snow!!
we're supposed to get more... lol... (i hate shoveling it, especially when it is hip-deep like that.... brrr...)
We were supposed to get flurries, but we have yet to have any substantial accumulation.
I dare you to run outside and make a naked snow angel.
LMAO I remember the XXX Snow Angels! WorkingMom and I were going to do it again last year, but we never did.
i've done far worse than make nekkid snow angels in it...
only when i'm guaranteed a quick warm up...
Take a few shots of whiskey first. It isnt as bad, then.

lmfao... if it doesn't crawl up your arse to hide form the cold first.... lol...
Great...now I have that King Missile song stuck in my head. :-\
I wouldn't suggest hanging around those stalactite looking icicles. But the pictures are nice.
How many inches did you end up getting??? (and I know Keith will likely destroy that comment...lol)
E, lmfao.. better than a wayward beefy weasel stuck somewhere else.
indeed and thankx, locutus...
it was over 2 and half feet... don't have an exact number... yet... lol...
It could be worse; thought you might enjoy these: http://www.pbase.com/scherrer/january_2005_ice_storm
those are amazing!
my first winter in ohio, i was 10... we were completely snowed in--couldn't open doors. an ice storm knocked out the power and we were freezing. since we lived in a resort area (the only resident on that block and the next)--they were slow to get our power back on. there was a tree on the roof... don't recall much else--it was bitter cold. at least i have a warm house to hide from the snow in....
it is predicted to be 8 degrees on sunday.
Are you in Ohio? I didn't know anywhere there had that much snow!
In NE Ohio and NW Pennsylvania, snow storms that dump 2-4 feet of snow are not uncommon.
This year, Lake Erie did not freeze over, due to very warm temps in November and December. Consequently, when the very cold air comes down out of Canada, the unfrozen lake pumps huge amounts of moisture up into the air, which freezes as the air moves south over land. The moisture-laden air hits land, is compressed by the slight upslope of the topography, and, Presto, we have tons of "lake effect" snow!!!
Depending on what angle the winds come across the lake, the "bands" of lake effect can set up quickly and dump huge amounts of snow in a very short time (overnight),
thankx for that wolfie!
yes, in ohio--in the freaking snow belt. we get hammered every year. (and not in a good way... lol...)
Spent 40+ years in the same town where you live, and in the surrounding area.
Still own about 50 acres of property east of you.
ahh the lake effect snow. love it. we have family near Cleveland (I think...its Hudson) and I was thinking they get quite a bit of snow there.
They have this winter because Lake Erie is only about 1/3 frozen so far.
i think it's beautiful to take pix of... but i hate getting stuck shoveling or having to dig the car out of the garage...
awesome, wolfie... you could do a lot with 50 acres... (moo... cluck, cluck... neigh)

I grew up in a moo... cluck, cluck... neigh environment.
Don't want to do that again, even as a hobby.
lol
i fear the cluck, cluck... (it's not FEAR, i just don't like the way chickens look at me.)
my victim's family has an exotic animal farm... nothing that moos or neighs... (what sound do deer make?) lots of other things...

Deer huff and snort.
Kind of like guys when they are stressed or have eaten gas-producing food. (beer & cabbage rolls, etc. Or, just beer and anything. Or just beer.)
hooray for beer!
they have some deer out there... and i've witnessed baby deer feedings....
yeah for deer.
fortunately there's beer out there too...and I've witnessed a few beer feedings.
lol... i've witnessed a few of those too....
