I was going through some old posts from years gone by, so I thought an update wow various topics would be good.
Still have the Goldwing, it has around 76k miles now, and we still love it. Unfortunately the KOA sponsored tours I'd been doing have been discontinued. I did end up with a third place finish on the last one, so that was a good place for them to end I guess.
The 4-4-2 is still waiting for restoration, but I did get a pair of cylinder heads ready for the updated power plant that will be installed some day.
My 64 Catalina project is moving forward, albeit ever so slowly as I gather parts.
We are still living in the Boone county home we purchased in 2010, and still love it out here.
Our oldest son who moved home to attend Purdue after 12 years in the USAF graduated in December, and has an engineering position. He's still living here for the time being, as he started the new job about a month ago.
The wife retired from the downtown Indy law firm in December 2017, only to go to another firm about a year ago, on a part time basis. She does not handle idle time well!
I left the auto auction at the end of December 2016, but went back when the wife went back to work. A 17 month break was refreshing.
My youngest son and his wife have blessed up with a second grandson, who will turned 3 recently.
I gave up my job at Bunker Hill Dragstrip last fall. I had moved from the lane boss, to the announcer position, and really enjoyed most of it, but the owner was getting difficult and I decided to walk away gracefully.
The wife and I are now volunteering for the Southeast Gasser Association. Only 11 events for the season, but all but one are out of state in the south. Since my youngest competes with them in the Super Stock class, we were going to be there anyway, and are glad to assist.
So that's about it for now!
