My friend, may I have the honor of wishing you Happy Birthday a little early! I hope you have a good one!
Ditto that!!!
I sincerely hope you have the best day possible!!!
Happy Birthday PH. I hope you have a great day!
Happy birthday, PH. Hope you have a great day!
Happy birthday! Enjoy your day!
Why thank you my friends; old and newer. What a pleasant surprise to finally get here and find this first thing. :drool1:
Busier than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rockers today, so I did not even have a chance to drop in until now. :para:
Another year will officially pass by for me at 3:00pm tomorrow afternoon, and believe me when I tell you that I am starting to really feel them; mentally if not physically.
Each year as the holiday lights begin appearing on homes across this land, they remind me that this day is quickly approaching, and my thoughts turn to those in my life that have already crossed over the great divide between our brief physical existence and the eternal plain we move to. These past few years I've found myself wondering how many more of these days I will have before I myself make that crossing and discover which of us is right and which of us is wrong. With a little luck I'll go another 1/4 of a century before I find out. :big grin:
Anyway, thanks again! I don't know what I'd do or where I'd be without each one of you! :smitten:
I will say this, it is nice to start my personal New Year, every year, with back-to-back holidays. . . :big grin:
(And as an added bonus, I made the last payment on that heart cath I had a couple of years back, today!) 8)

If it is at all possible, I'd trade my having a good day in exchange for your father having an outstanding one! And I absolutely mean that. Hope he's improving!

I didn't forget PH, just got behind on a few things. I hope, dear sir, that you have a wonderful birthday, and many more. :cake:  :flwr: :music1:
I am happy because I just found out that my daughter and son-in-law will be coming up from Richmond to spend a couple of days here.

I sincerely thank for that remarkable statement! You are a good man PH.
Dad actually IS showing some real signs of improvement.....Well, at least better than he was when we took him the ER a week ago. Yesterday, he was very sharp and witty. He had his old since of humor....and was 'charming' himself with the nurses. They have fallen in love with my Dad. The care he has received by the nursing staff at St. V (Anderson) has been outstanding.
Sorry, this is not the thread for this...
But thank you again, PH for your support..........and have a GREAT DAY!

Outstanding news Hank! I'm still pulling' for him! (And you).
So once again I am amazed at the well wishes from everyone here, and also from so many of my connections on another social media site I am forced by society to frequent.
But here's something that I find really uncomfortable. . .
I am connected with a large number of former team-mates whom I was honored to lead within various venues around this nation during my lifetime. It's a great way of keeping in touch with these folks and I do enjoy seeing their various milestone events and progress in life. They're all solid people with whom I shared windows of time throughout my career, and keeping in touch with them brings me no small measure of joy in seeing them progress professionally and personally. You spend time like that around people and they become like family to you; especially those that you have a high level of interaction with on a daily basis. (Now for the uncomfortable part).
A very large number of these individuals posted birthday wishes to me on said account today. And a number of them left postings like "Happy Birthday Boss", and variations thereof. Despite the fact we have not worked together for many years in some cases, a bunch of them call me Boss. . . My current team members included the "term of endearment" in some cases. (None meant it as derogatory or with ill intention).
On one hand I am deeply humbled and complimented that they still see me in a leadership role despite the separation, but even with my current team I just cannot bring myself to see me as "Boss" of anything other than my bodily functions. (And even those are in question at times). :big grin:
I prefer to see my role as one akin to teacher, counselor, or coach. . . And I have always told my teams this my entire career. Yes, I can administer the progressive line of discipline with the best of them, but I have always viewed that as a tool to be used as a last ditch effort to obtain focus rather than to punish. I hate to use it, but have and still do when the situation requires it. But I always try my best to coach and mentor my team members through their challenges, giving them my very best effort to help them navigate through the issue. And I believe that as a result of my approach, results are fast-tracked and the necessary team dynamics are instilled rather than mob action based peer pressure.
Anyway. . . It's semantics I know, and I do deeply appreciate their more than generous intentions in referring to me using that term. That means a lot to me, and provides a means of measurement surrounding the effectiveness of my leadership style. I could be called much worse! (And have) :icon_twisted:
Well it's December 16th again, and we all know that what means.

Thanks all. Deeply appreciate it.
Ack! I'm late to the party! Happy birthday PH! And I hope you enjoy many, many more! :food4:
Thank you Abby!
I am a tad bet overwhelmed by things today. My phone and social media have been blowing up constantly all day long.
I, at last count, had well over 300 different b-day messages from friends, family, and colleagues, and they continue to come in.
My wife and I went to dinner and I had to shut my phone off! :big grin:
And then there are those of you here as well. . .
I am one lucky SOB, let me tell you.
If only I could afford to gather everyone in one place for a nice celebration together. Wouldn't that be something? :smitten:

Thanks everyone. Yes, again. . . And according to a social media article I just read, ( so it must be true  ), those of us born in December live an average of 105 years due the increase in vitamin D our mothers get from the summer sun while we are in the womb. . . :spooked:
I don't know if I can take another 44 years of this. . . .
Ack! I'm late to the party! Happy belated birthday, Palehorse! Hope you had a good day celebrating. :food4: :baloon3: :balloon2: :cake:
