This one breaks my heart.
My own grandson had a hard time learning to go potty, but my wife and I stayed consistent with him and we finally told him anytime he is over at our house he had to wear only "big boy underwear". No more pull ups. He is also 3 years old. (4 in about 7 weeks).
I also installed a new seat that has a fold down seat right sized for little kids.
One weekend he spent the entire time with us, and never had a single accident. He turned the corner that weekend and has never looked back. He is now to the point where whenever he has to go he does so without assistance.
EVERY child has their own timeframe in which they learn this. Some take to it like a duck to water. Others it just takes time, love, and support; but they eventually get it.
There is NO excuse to be using corporal punishment on a child learning to go potty. None.

Very true!! There are only a few things that piss me off in this world, abuse of children, abuse of the elderly and abuse of animals!! All 3 deserve are love and respect. I have zero tolerance towards who mistreat and abuse them!
I agree that adults who sexually abuse children should receive harsh punishment. I don't understand why so many receive just a few years in prison then are let out after serving less than half their sentence and are not held to the provisions of their probation or their sex offender provisions.

Then why do I dislike the neighbor's boys and their friends who destroy my wood fence with their baseballs, soccer balls, golf balls and basketballs. Plus a broken window and dents in my metal outside shed with the golf balls. "FORE"
Troll, they call it summer break for a reason. The reason is because the kids will break everything in your house before they go back to school. Then you have to fix it. ;D

 Not all kinds are that way because I would bust my kid's ass if they went around breaking things maliciously! Some parents don't care what their kids do. They figure out of sight, out of mind!

As a side topic here, I disagree with you. Do you actually think sociopaths/psychopaths only come about with adulthood? Kids are human, just like the rest of us. What you're doing there is mythologizing childhood.

I agree if we have the same definition of abuse - coercion, mental and physical cruelty.

Another agreement if by 'sexual abuse' is defined by coercion.
Another side topic here.
One of the problems here is that children are not looked upon as individuals, but as property of adults and primarily without rights or allowed any self-determination.
It's only been in recent times - decades to a century or so - where society has created the modern definition of a 'child', and as time marches on the upper age limit on 'childhood' is constantly being raised.
Children, for most of human history were looked upon as immature versions of adults and were expected to mature quickly - FAR more quickly than nowadays - in many ways, including sexually. It was understood that children - being human, and humans being sexual animals - would be sexual and have an interest in sexuality. We seem to have gotten away from that understanding. It was less than a century ago that 12-14 year-olds could legally wed - and I hope everyone understands that meant that dirty word S-E-X.
I think this country is totally 'screwed' up over sex. (like that wordplay? )
Sex isn't either the government's or society's interest unless coercion is involved.

That is abuse also in my opinion! Abuse can be verbal, physical, emotional, and mental along with coercion and intimidation!

There are exceptions to the rule. I am looking at society as a whole. Folks are flawed for sure I reckon and I sure have mine, how about you? I respect your opinion but stand by my statement. Heck there may be some psychopaths on this here dadburn forum.
