Title: MORE Taxation!
Post by: Palehorse on August 19, 2014, 08:36:30 PM
Here we go again. Marion County is looking to impose a "commuter tax" upon those that work in Marion County but live elsewhere.  My understanding is this will be a tax upon food, drink, services, admission tickets, etc. at venues in Marion County.

Question: Just how will they determine your county of residence?

Moreover, how will the funds generated be used? More police? More Fire, more public safety? Or will it become a slush fund for the CIB to raid?

Just how much more money do they need? Given that the Lottery has a 250 million dollar surplus this year, which will be used for all of the above, with remediation of license plate fees taking a "also ran" position in the distribution.

Marion and the 9 collar counties are already being charged a "sunset tax" x2, to pay for the Luke and the RCA Dome. (Remember that place? It's gone now, but you're still paying for it). How much more can we pay for a ruben at Shapiros?

They do this and the brown baggers will come out in droves, and then we'll have to listen to the caterwauling of the food service workers and business owners.

But it won't stop them!

At least that is a tax we don't HAVE to partake in.

Tho I spent 38 years working in Indianapolis, I spent very little time there entertaining my wife and myself.     When we went down there we tried to be out of the city before 11 o'clock for many of the out of town cars were targeted by the police.     I know it for a fact for many of my fellow workers were pulled over by the police.   :police:
