Just wondering how many, if any, of you are following the Justina Pelletier case. I feel so badly for the parents in this case and don't know how the people at Boston Children's Hospital or the judge in this case can sleep at night knowing they are in the wrong. I also don't understand why the state of Connecticut hasn't stepped up and tried to help. This whole deal is just sooooo wrong.
I haven't heard of this case. I'll have to look it up.
Is this the one where the little girl was severely over-weight?
Seems to be a weird case. I'm going to read more about it tomorrow.

Wow, that is really sad for those parents. I mean in a world where I see kids being abused and these parents love their daughter this is just wrong. :(

No. You should look it up PH. It will make your blood boil. Signs are pointing more and more to the fact that she may be being used to experiment on by the Boston Children's hospital which is a teaching hospital.
Yeah, I read the article- how sad. Especially in the world where you have some children who are being abused by their parents and she isn't. Makes my blood boil.

It's good that the father was smart enough to ignore the judges gag order and bring this out into the public. They are finding other instances of similar things happening at this hospital and I hope his actions will get it shut down. I just hope they can get their daughter back before she dies. Her father suspects she may have developed sepsis because of the swelling in her stomach, legs, and face. :'(
It would really be interesting to get a look at her medical records. I wonder if her first set of doctors ever testified before a judge.
I don't believe they ever got the chance. From the way it sounds the judge took the word of the doctors from BCH, they diagnosed her with a mental problem and she's in the psych ward now, charged the father with giving her unnecessary operations and child neglect, or endangerment, I forget which, made her a ward of the state of Massachusetts, put a gag order on the family from discussing the case, and it has only gotten worse from there. They are not giving her the treatments for her disorder at all and her health is deteriorating badly. If they, those doctors who are talking to the judge, can't see what she was a year ago and what she is now they are in the wrong profession and I hope no one of my friends or family happens to get them as doctors. IMO that teaching hospital should be shut down and the people who run it prosecuted.
This week, she was transferred to the JRI Susan Wayne Center in Thompson, Connecticut, about an hour and a half from her home. While this is a movement in the right direction, Justina remains a ward of the state of Massachusetts.
