Title: It's been a year today....
Post by: Mr442 on May 14, 2013, 04:42:17 PM
....that we found Mac our German Shepherd grand dog lying dead in the dining room.  Hardly a day passes without remembering him, good or bad.  Bella (who we have determined to be Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix) has been here since the middle of December, and has done an admirable job of filling a void she knows nothing of.  Sometimes she acts just like Mac, and others she is different, but she has made a big difference.  Having an intelligent dog in the house is very fulfilling, plus a lot of work at times.  She requires much more interaction than our Shih Tzu or our cat.  But that keeps me occupied also.  Yes I still miss Mac, and always will, but Bella has sure help heal the pain.

Amazing how they can change your lives, isn't it.  I was all against getting another dog.......but, the kids won, and I did too....my dog has been so much fun.

Glad to hear Bella is stepping in and filling a void.

For the most parts dogs are smarter than us  ;) and they give much more than they take.

Best regards,
Duke ( man's better friend) Jupiter

Dogs are aware of a lot more than we realize, and I'd venture to say Bella is more than aware of your departed companion. The scent alone told her a lot of what she needed to know.

Very happy to hear things are going well. We may be the Alpha's of the pack, but a pack does not survive on Alpha's alone. Our 4 legged family members are an integral part of our lives and enrich them in ways most upright humans are never even aware of until they are gone.

Treat them well and they will always be there for you and their pack.  :smitten: :smitten:
