Mitch from K-Nine Koach LLC worked wonders with Bella today. She is a Belgian Malinois mix with ideas of her own. Mitch had her under control in no time, it was amazing. He also gave us feedback on what we were doing right and wrong, so we could improve and help Bella. Truth be told getting us trained is going to be harder than training Bella. We will have Mitch back in a few weeks for a follow up visit. I hope we will have done as well as Bella deserves.

You've already taken the first couple of steps; getting a trainer and realizing you must also be trained. It gets better after that believe me. Most dog owners don't take those first two important steps, so you are way ahead of the pack! Congratulations.
I'm sure you will find this a rewarding endeavor beyond your greatest expectations. :yes: :smitten:
Remember, dogs aim to please 110% of the time. All you have to do is learn how to let them know what it is you expect from them. After that, they'll work harder than any human you have known to do so. :yes: Once they learn their role in the pack, it gets a lot easier.
Update time!
Bella and I have been walking every day since her"schooling", except for a couple. We are now up to one mile (I'm sure she could do more, but I'm not there yet.) and she is doing better each time on the leash. Since she is just shy 8 months old, everything she sees is new and exciting to her. She is calming down some, but every once in a while something else new pops up. I am alternating between a slip leash and a halter. She really isn't fond of the halter, but it gets the best results.
While the walking on leash is going well, the waiting on me to let her through the door or down the steps has been less than successful. That is my fault for not taking more time, or as much as needed, to make that part work. I'm going to have to do better. :rolleyes:
