Is anyone else just sick to death of being lied to all day in and all day out through advertising and having it repeatedly shoved down your throat?
You can't even get away from it unless you completely toss tv, radio, movies etc. from your life.
Maybe I'm just getting to be an old curmudgeon, but I'm sick of it.

I'm sick of them and the commercials take up over 20 minutes of a hour show. That is why I love my TIVO. When one of the shows I want to watch I start recording it for the first 20 minutes. While this is being done I watch something I have already recorded. I go back to the show and I breeze through all of the commercials.
Another thing I bitching about. They passed a law that the commercials can't be louder that the show. :haha: The commercials are still louder.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I think the law gave them two years to comply, but the deadline came and went and they're still louder.
I can't stand commercials. I mute 99.9% of them. The only one I can think of in recent memory that I thought was really funny was one where a little boy runs up to his mother and says, "Mommy, mommy, I went potty!" She got a big smile on her face, rushed to look into the commode, and with a puzzled look on her face, said, "Where?"
The little feller pointed to the bathtub.
;D
Anyone else sick of those 'cancer' commercials and how they misrepresent things in order to prey on some of the most vulnerable in our society?
How about those 'High School Sports' propaganda commercials?

Don't think I've seen those.
I don't know how you've missed them.
They have some child thinking about sports and then the propaganda about how that child's life will really be something due to H.S. sports.
Basically it's the IHSAA running scared that sports are going to be cut from school budgets due to the State's draconian funding and choice legislation.

In a way it would be a shame if they did cut sports from school budgets but that's for another topic so I won't pursue it here.
The wind and storms we've had over the past months have finally done our antenna in so we've been watching shows we can't get with our indoor antennas online.
So...a 30 minute show is really 19-20 minutes and an hour show is approximately 40 minutes.
It's really quite nice watching shows completely without commercials, but there's absolutely NO reason for that much time of the public airwaves being used for commercials.
That's also not to mention ALL the 'paid programming' which are nothing but feature length commercials.
Pfui!!! A BIG thumbs down to the FCC who doesn't appear to be running the public airwaves for the benefit of the PUBLIC.

I know what you mean, that's why I love my Digital Recorder. The commercial industry is raising hell about commercial avoidance by the TV watchers. They can kiss my ass and besides I am so sick of the lizard and Flo. :finger:
I don't know how many of you have seen the Sprint commercials with James Earl Jones and Malcolm McDowell, but I think they're the funniest commercials I've seen in a while.
Here's one, and there's several of them at this link:
Friend Request Commercial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxw5aprXK4M)
The commercials have gotten out of control. 5 minutes of show and then 5 minutes of commercials. Then on top of that, the same commercial over and over and over again. Flo selling insurance out of a insurance store and hiding in the shadows selling a device so the insurance company can watch your driving every moment.
