Captain D's on Broadway is on fire and fully engulfed. I would not be surprised to see it a total loss. . . .

Cause of Captain D's fire remains under investigation
By Abbey Doyle The Herald Bulletin
ANDERSON, Ind. — Firefighters are still on the scene of a fire at Captain D's on Broadway more than three hours after the blaze was first reported.
Brent Holland, Anderson Fire deputy chief, said the fire was called in by two motorists at 7:50 a.m. Firefighters arrived at the scene at 7:54 a.m. No one was in the building at the time of the fire.
The fire was under control by around 10:30 p.m. but firefighters were continuing to put out hot spots at 11 a.m., Holland said. Investigators are on the scene; no cause for the fire has been determined, he said.
There are no injuries reported.
Smoke billowed from the fried fish and chicken fast food restaurant at times so thick the building itself couldn't be spotted. At one point firefighters were in the bucket of a ladder just feet from the roof of the restaurant but before flames started shooting through the roof the ladder was extended higher.
About 10 motorists had pulled into nearby parking lots and were taking pictures with their cell phones and watching the fire.
Holland said the building was destroyed by the flames and the investigation is ongoing.
Troy Knight owns the restaurant as well as a second Captain D's in Muncie, according to an employee of the Muncie location. He could not be reached for comment.
Ate at one of those once in Bedford, IN. It was a long, high speed, motorcycle ride between restrooms all the way home. Never ate at another Captain Diarrhea's again. :spooked: It hit the wife and I both, at about the same time. Glad I was on my K75 BMW that night, as it rode smooth and handled exceptionally well at high speed. So, can't say I am sad to one go up in flames.

They aren't all like that one in Bedford which never was all that good. The one in Muncie is good and this one was, except for their mac and cheese which they changed for some reason. The had excellent fried okra.
My wife and I ate at Captain D's two or three times. We found that Long John Silver had Captain D's beat on everything. But I think that Long John Silver has the best "fast food" fish. Just love it fresh out of the fryer. :drool2:

A friend of mine got me hooked on their malt vinegar. I even started putting it on the chicken and fries when I get them, I usually get the corn though. We hate that they discontinued the lobster bites. If hubby wants cat fish we go to King Gyro's on 10th and Scatterfield.

'Em 40's 'll getcha ever' time.
You guys like Captain D's? I always thought their food sucks. ;D
It would do in a pinch, but I avoid being in a pinch when it comes to food.
I loved the crispy pieces of breading that would fall off of the fish and the hush puppies. I'm like PH, it was okay, in a pinch or every great once in a while.
They're supposed to be working on it, but they're taking their sweet time about it.
