This link takes you to the state of Indiana Travel Advisory Status Map.
With the impending Blizzard approaching, those of us who may have to go into work might want to consult this map before heading out into the storm.
If your county is marked in red, "warning" status, it is an indication that travel is either not advised or prohibited and you could be subjected to ticketing or arrest if you choose to travel. Counties showing red status typically restrict travel to emergency personnel only. . .
Madison County has already issued an advisory status; Yellow.

We went to Walgreens and picked up a few items of junk food and pop.......just to hold us over.
How many inches are they calling for?
Possibility of 12-15" last I heard.
That's a lot of snow.

Yup. That's a fact. The thing that I keep wondering about is how "wrong" they are surrounding their predictions.
When they predict snowfall amounts such as the ones they are putting out there now, they are historically conservative, and frequently quite conservative surrounding the amounts.
Wrap that up with a drought summer season just passing and this could be the formula for a couple of feet of snow after this event is over. . . :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Good luck! ;D

I just shoveled the back patio so I could take lil pup out. I'd say we have about 4.5 - 5.5 inches on the ground at best. The issue is though that it is drifting and blowing, and still snowing. . .

Hay Horse, were you using Viagra when you did your last snow dance. You had too, because Indiana is sure getting a good F-ing, :haha:
Report Card for Snow Removal Efforts: Delaware and Madison Counties and State of Indiana Roads -
FAIL
I DO NOT BELIEVE ANY MUNICIPALITY OR THE STATE EVEN KNOW WHAT SALT IS FOR!
The roads were barely passable at 1:00pm, and nearly 12 hours later they are a sheet of ice; every last one of them!
I know some counties got it much worse, but in my opinion, was not all that bad here in Madison Co. I was fortunate, my boss called me just as I was heading for work yesterday morning, and told me to stay home. So, I made my way to Meijers, and loaded up on some goodies.....came home and made some veggie soup and played with my kids all day. Gave my 70lb puppy a bath........and had a great time.
I did go out last evening and shoveled some snow out of my driveway, cleanded off my truck. This morning was pretty easy getting to work. The backroads were not too bad, and I69 was in very good shape.
We stayed in Yesterday but when we went out late this morning the roads were OK, some slushy but not slick, even in our neighborhood. I was impressed. the plows went through the neighborhood three times yesterday. That hasn't happened since the police chief lived in the neighborhood. Our thoughtful neighbor cleaned our driveway and a path to their house for us, too. :smitten:
