Anderson police search for bank robber
ANDERSON -
Anderson police are searching Saturday morning for a bank robbery suspect in a field on the north side of the city near 8th Street and Baxter Road.
A police canine was sent into the field to search for the suspect and shots were fired. There is no word on any injuries to the K-9 or officers.

Anderson police have captured the lone suspect from a bank robbery Saturday morning.
Just after 9:30 the PNC bank in the 2900 block of Nichol Avenue. The suspect took off on a bike.
An Anderson K-9 officer caught up with the suspect and turned Magnum, the officer's K-9, loose. The suspect shot the police dog and ran into a wooded area. The suspect was captured by Madison County SWAT officers several hours later.
Magnum was taken to an area animal hospital and is in surgery. Officers remain on scene searching for the weapon. The suspects name has not yet been released.

Yeah, and at about 5-11k a copy, that's expensive. . . :eek:
Hopefully the dog will make it. Although it may not return to service even if it does.
