I had a similar experience back in 2005, I had free tickets and went with a buddy. It was boring as can be, but we managed to have a good time, just as you did. I will never go back for a NASCAR race. I have had the honor of sitting in our companies suite, and watch the Indy 500 time trials, and that was a blast.

Honestly, up until last year, we ALL had an invite to the race, for free. But Obama has our economy so screwed up, we had to cut back, hopefully temporarly.
With that being said, I never went to the race, because I would much rather be home with my kids. I am not a fan of large crowds....and I also find that race to become boring. I usually listen to it on the radio, as I grille.

I got to say one thing, Obama is the most unlucky president America has ever had. First he is handed the worse depression America has since the Hoover depression. A stock marked and bank disaster, a realstate disaster, a Republican Congress who has fought everything he has wanted to do, with their only job is to make Obama a one term president. The worst drought since the 30's.
With all of the outsourcing and offshoring of jobs and companies and manufacturing, He really has no where to make jobs. I got to say he has done a fine job with what the Republicans have dealt him.

Then they had raffles for suite tickets when customers did not consume them.
Same thing with the Colts and Pacers.

Ford Motor Co. wasn't that good. They had a lottery for the ticket they got for the Indianapolis 500. You had to buy them. But they had a bus that came to the parking lot to pick you up. And naturally you had to pay for that to. :wink: :smile:
I can remember when Jimmy Clark first came over here to run his Ford engine. The Ford tool room work 24 hours a day making and rebuilding parts for his car. Also I got to see him run that year. What got me was he didn't have to slow down for the curves.
The Novi's would pass everything down the straightaways, but had to slow down for the curves. Oh, those were the days of good racing. I really don't care that much for the cars and could care less for the personality of the drivers. Especially the foreign drivers. Where are all of the American drivers. :angry:
I got to say one thing, Tony Hulman sure screwed up the 500. The racing has been the same since he had change it. :rant:
