4/18 weekly musicians jam at the Fraternal Order of Eagles..Starts at 7:00PM/10PM visitors are required by State Law to "sign in" on guest register..........HOPE TO SEE YOU/HEAR YOU THERE

You know I would like to see and listen to some more of the local bands.  The last one we went to the music was so loud that sitting at the bar.  We had to stand up and yell into the bartender's ear to tell her what we wanted to drink.

As long as the music is so loud that it painful to a person that is a little bit hard of hearing.  We are not going to go.  Their loss not mine.  Sorry.

I played in a band - a long, long time ago.

I remember that if the glasses didn't rattle off the bar, we weren't loud enough.

Some bands just never figured out louder isn't necessarily better and I understand where you're coming from.  A friend of mine would put an earplug in the ear she had the hearing loss in and it kept it from hurting and didn't block any of the sound, anyway as far as she could tell.  Also if you go to the lodges like Eagles, VFW's and such they don't play as loud so it shouldn't be as much of a problem.  I knew a drummer who used cigarette filters, clean ones of course.

Not wimps I guess when you have a partial loss of hearing certain sounds are very painful to the ear you have the hearing loss in.  She didn't mind the loud, in fact she kind of liked it, but the pain got to be just a bit much to handle.

If you played that loud you are like what the young kid are going to be.  Them in their cars with 100,000 watts of super sound and bass power that you can hear the bass thought the walls.  The first thing they say to you when you talk to them is.  WHAT, WHAT DID YOU SAY, HUH?  Just saying as Henry would say.

I remember we were playing at a church hall once ... (looked for an appropriate smiley to place here, a lightning stroke would have been nice)

Anyway .... there was a piano with an oil lamp on the side of the stage next to my bass amp. It took all of 30 seconds for me to vibrate that sucker off that piano and break it all over the floor.
