Police investigating Anderson bank robbery
By Abbey Doyle
ANDERSON, Ind. — Just after noon Saturday, Anderson police received a report of a bank robbery at Old National Bank.
Anderson police spokesman Mitch Carroll said a man entered the bank — at 1908 E. 53rd St. — wearing a surgical mask and handed a note to a teller. The note, he said, demanded cash from the bank employee. The man the left through the front door with cash in a cream-colored bag.
Carroll said there were three bank employees and two customers inside the bank at the time of the robbery.
The man was described as a white, wearing an orange and red coat, gray winter hat and white surgical mask. He was carrying a cream-colored bag and spoke with a raspy voice, Carroll said.
Witnesses were unable to give police further description of the suspect or tell them which way he left or how he left.
Anyone with information about the bank robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 649-8310 or Anderson police detective Larry Crenshaw at 648-6745.

I learned of this at dinner tonight from my daughter who works at this very branch!
:spooked: :spooked::spooked:
In fact she would have regularly been scheduled to be at work today but was not there due to leadership training she was attending elsewhere. :spooked: :spooked: :spooked:
I have been worried about just this kind of thing happening there! Since ONB closed several satellite locations and picked up Charter Banks customers, this particular branch has been VERY busy. Historically it was never very busy at all prior to the changes by the bank. . .
Glad no one was hurt.
