Title: BRITE Automotive Thumbs It's Nose to Flagship
Post by: Palehorse on November 17, 2010, 06:30:08 PM
Brite Automotive, one of the tenants in the Flagship, made an announcement some time ago that it was going to expand its presence by constructing and manning a Tech Center, and the Flagship and City of Anderson put together an incentive package to entice them to locate it here. Instead Brite announced it is moving its tech center and the 300 or so jobs it brings with it, to Michigan.

The spokesman for the Flagship says the package put together by the Flagship and the City of Anderson was at least equal to what the state had put into place in an attempt to lure them there. He believes there was some sweetener added by the local municipality in Michigan to swing the deal. . .

I would like to know what the state of Michigan gave Brite Automobile Co. and the CEO under the table.  I'll bet it's one sweet chunk.  $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Anderson isn't out of the running for the company's  future manufacturing plant that is expected to bring about 1,000  primary jobs. "I think we had all hoped the tech center would be located here in Indiana," Staley said. "On the other hand, I am encouraged that power train and eSolutions, Bright's engineering arm, will remain and expand into our new lab space at the Flagship."

Yes Sir, Michigan is paying big money to get business back to Michigan.  Indiana is a little tight with money.
