Sweet lovely death
I am waiting for your breath
Come sweet death, one last caress

Well, I got something to say
I killed your baby today
And it doesn't matter much to me
As long as it's dead

Is that Dysturbed?  The Sickness song (can't remember if that's the actual title)?

"Wow!" said the broken Californian down
On the beach that used to be by the beach
Town hasn't moved but's getting closer, losing ground
Making better views and close relaxing sounds
Ground sure don't like the way it's treated so now
It's moving back to the sea

"The Pass" by Rush

I've been baptized by your voice.
it screams from deep beneath the endless water.
and it's half as high as heaven
and half as clear as reason.
it's cold and and black like silt on the riverbed.

But I'm so comfortable.
Far too comfortable.
Why don't you kill me,
I'm weak and numb and insignificant,
and I'm back on my knees.
lost in euphoria.

Here's one I like to listen to on the first warm winter/spring day. It's an easy one. :)

Walk along the river, sweet lullaby, it just keeps on flowing,
It don't worry 'bout where it's going
Don't fly, mister blue bird, I'm just walking down the road,

Miss You - Rolling Stones

Yes, I received your letter yesterday
(About the time the door knob broke)
When you asked how I was doing
Was that some kind of joke?
All these people that you mention
Yes, I know them, they're quite lame
I had to rearrange their faces
And give them all another name
Right now I can't read too good
Don't send me no more letters no
Not unless you mail them from...

Desolation Row -- Bob Dylan

Try these lyrics:

The beer was empty and our
tongues were tired
And running out of things to say
She gave a kiss to me as I got out
And I watched her drive away.
Just for a moment I was
back at school
And felt that old familiar pain
And as I turned to make
my way back home
The snow turned into rain --

Same Old Lang Syne by Dan Fogelberg

How about these?:

The first time my heart was ever touched
Was the day I lost your love
I can feel it in my flesh and blood
My soul can only take it so much

So there it is. Why can't you give us one more try
You and I could find a way to live
If you let me in one more time

"2 Late 4 Goodbyes" - Jeff Beck

I can't believe what u're doing 2 me
Just can't believe what u're doing
All of the lies u want me 2 believe
Who do u think u're fooling?

Lately u got me thinking
Oh, why go on?
Its all so plain 2 see
& I think we both agree that it's much...

Much 2 late (it's much 2 late) 4 goodbyes, oh it's much...
Much 2 late (it's much 2 late) 4 the lonely tears u cry

Nobody wins once the games all begin
Nobodys into u're thinking
Your masquerade is the card that u play
Drowned by the bluff you're bringing

No truth 2 your confession
When will it end?
U were once my only 1
But now the damage is done, now it's much...

Much 2 late (it's much 2 late) 4 goodbyes, oh it's much...
Much 2 late (it's much 2 late) 4 the lonely tears u cry
Much 2 late (it's much 2 late) 4 goodbyes, oh it's much...
Much 2 late (it's much 2 late) 4 the lonely tears u cry

Much 2 late (it's much 2 late) 4 goodbyes, oh it's much...
Much 2 late (it's much 2 late) 4 the lonely tears u cry
Much 2 late (it's much 2 late) 4 goodbyes, oh it's much...
Much 2 late (it's much 2 late) 4 the lonely tears u cry

Here's another tune:

Must be getting early, clock are running late.
Paint my love a morning sky, it's all cold.
Dawn is breaking everywhere, light a candle, curse the glare
Draw the curtains I don't care, but it's alright
I will get by, I will get by, I will get by, I will survive.

Touch of Grey - Grateful Dead (I can relate to this one) :)

You're laying low, staying outta sight
Hanging out in your room
You're up all night by the monitor's light
Sleeping through the afternoon
Well, I won't tell you how you gotta be
You're old enough to make a choice
It's just that in between all the words on the screen
I doubt you'll ever hear a human voice

If the sky above you...
Should turn dark and full of clouds....

You just call out my name and you know where ever I am....
I'll come running to see you again.....

These Dreams - Heart

It was a rainy night
When he came into sight,
Standing by the road,
No umbrella, no coat.
So I pulled up alongside
And I offered him a ride.
He accepted with a smile,
So we drove for a while.
I didnt ask him his name,
This lonely boy in the rain.
Fate, tell me its right,
Is this love at first sight?
Please dont make it wrong,
Just stay for the night.

When I Dream - Crystal Gayle

Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're loosin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?

One baby to another says,
I'm lucky to have met you
I don't care what you think
Unless it is about me
It is now my duty to completely drain you
A travel through a tube
And end up in your infection

Chew your meat for you
Pass it back and forth
In a passionate kiss
From my mouth to yours
Because I like you

Drain You - Nirvana

The trust and self-assurance that lead to happiness
Theyre the very things - we kill I guess
Pride and competition
Cannot fill these empty arms
And the work I put between us
You know it doesnt keep me warm
Im learning to live without you now
But I miss you, baby
And the more I know, the less I understand
All the things I thought Id figured out
I have to learn again

She said she's gonna come back tomorrow

Another mother's breaking heart is taking over
When the violence causes silence
We must be mistaken
It's the same old theme since 1916

And their bombs, and their guns
In your head, in your head they are dyin'

Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say.

Billy came back from vietnam just a shadow of a man,
He was a shadow of a man when he came back from vietnam
He was spraying that agent orange on the foliage of the land
out of 80 gallon cans, way back in vietnam
Billy came back from vietnam just a shadow of a man,
He was a shadow of a man when he cam back from vietnam
He married a little women that he liked to call Diane
Though her true name was named Pam
She changed her name to Mrs. Gram
After two still born babies, Billy said I am
Just a portion of the man I was before I went to Nam
Now he drinks and snorts amphetamine
Just as often as he can cause' he's the shadow of a man who

Coming back from some mill in Wisconsin
As the big freighters go, it was bigger than most

And later that night when the ship's bell rang
Could it be the north wind they'd been feelin'?

Big Yellow Taxi - Joni Mitchell

If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now,
It's just a spring clean for the May Queen
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on
And it makes me wonder

Stairway to Heaven - Led Zepplin

Because there's a monster
Living under my bed
Whispering in my ear
There's an angel
With a hand on my head
She says I've got nothing to fear
There's a darkness
Deep in my soul
I still got a purpose to serve
so let your light shine

Looking for a chateau
Twenty one rooms but one will do
Looking for a chateau
Twenty one rooms but one will do
I don't want to buy it
I just want to rent it for an hour or two

Met an old mistake
Walking down the street today
Met an old mistake
Walking down the street today
I didn't want to be mean about it
But I, I didn't have one good word to say

West LA Fadeaway by the Grateful Dead

We'll do it all, everything, on our own
We don't need anything or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world

I don't quite know how to say how I feel
Those three words are said too much
They're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Smile an ever lasting smile, a smile could bring you near to me.

The crops we grew last summer weren't enough to pay the loans
Couldn't buy the seed to plant this spring and the Farmers Bank foreclosed
Called my old friend Schepman up to auction off the land
He said John it's just my job and I hope you understand
Hey calling it your job ol' hoss sure don't make it right
But if you want me to I'll say a prayer for your soul tonight
And grandma's on the front porch swing with a Bible in her hand
Sometimes I hear her singing "Take me to the Promised Land"

Rain on the Scarecrow by John Mellencamp

Locked up inside you,
like the calm beneath castles,
is a cavern of treasures that
noone has been to.

Let's go digging.
Bring it out to take you back in.

You won't do what you'd like to do.
Lay back and let me show you another way.
I'll kill what you want me to,
take what's left and eat it.
Take all or nothing.
Life's just too short to push it away.

Take a walk on the wild side - Lou Reed

(and for NO explained reason that song always reminds me of this one)

When the jester sang for the king and queen
In a coat he borrowed from James Dean
In a voice that came from you and me

And while the King was looking down
The jester stole his thorny crown
The courtroom was adjourned
No verdict was returned

While Lennon read the book of Marx
The quartet kept practice in the park
And we sang dirges in the dark

Mud on the Tires by ...uh.. sorry

I once knew a man
Showed me the slight of hand
In the blink of an eye, he danced across the strings

Played a song I'd never heard
Poignant and absurd
To this day it leaves me wondering

How I wish tomorrow I were fishin'
Boy I've got a mission
Shake it, rattle and roll

Ah, now, just use your intuition
You'll get less competition
From the clock up on the wall

And if I fall down
I´ll just get back up
It'll be alright
It'll be ok

The full moon is calling
The fever is high

And moans
You got your demons
You got desires

one of these nights - eagles

I go to school and I run and play
I tell the kids that it's all ok
I laugh a lot so my friends won't know
When the bell rings that I just don't wanna go
I go to my room and I close my eyes
I make believe that I have a new life

Wonderful - Everclear

Cause there's a monster living under my bed
Whispering in my ear
There's an angel, with a hand on my head
She say I've got nothing to fear

There's a darkness living deep in my soul
I still got a purpose to serve
So let your light shine, deep into my home
God, don't let me lose my nerve
Lose my nerve

Put your light on (?) Santana and Everclear

I will love you anyway
Even if you can not stay
I think you are the one for me
Here is where you want to be
I just want to satisfy 'ya
You're not mine and I can't deny it
Don't you hear me talkin' baby
Love me now or I'll go crazy

Polar opposites don't push away
It's the same on the weekends as the rest of the days
And I know I should go but I'll probably stay
And that's all you can do about some things
I'm trying to drink away the part of the day
That I cannot sleep away

From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer\'s gone, and all the flowers are dying
\'Tis you, \'tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer\'s in the meadow
Or when the valley\'s hushed and white with snow
\'Tis I\'ll be here in sunshine or in shadow

There's a tear in your eye,
And I'm wondering why,
For it never should be there at all.
With such pow'r in your smile,
Sure a stone you'd beguile,
So there's never a teardrop should fall.
When your sweet lilting laughter's
Like some fairy song,
And your eyes twinkle bright as can be;
You should laugh all the while
And all other times smile,
And now, smile a smile for me.

I look inside my self
See my heart is back
I see my red door
And I want it painted black
Maybe then I'll fade away
And not have to face the facts
It's not easy facing up
When your whole world is black

Run, rabbit, run
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done
Dont sit down, its time to dig another one
For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race toward an early grave.

Well I don't know why I came here tonight,
I got the feeling that something ain't right,
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair,
And I'm wondering how I'll get down the stairs,

Jokers to the right

Along the drifting cloud the eagle searching down on the land
Catching the swirling wind the sailor sees the rim of the land
The eagles dancing wings create as weather spins out of hand
Go closer hold the land feel partly no more than grains of sand
We stand to lose all time a thousand answers by in our hand
Next to your deeper fears we stand
Surrounded by a millions years

Roundabout by Yes

You're the kind of person you meet at certain dismal, dull affairs
Center of a crowd, talking much too loud, running up and down the stairs
Well, it seems to me that you have seen too much in too few years
And though you've tried you just can't hide your eyes are edged with tears

You better stop, look around
Here it comes, here it comes, here it comes, here it comes

It seems like yesterday but it was long ago Janey was lovely, she was the queen of my nights
There in the darkness with the radio, playin' low
The secrets that we shared, mountains that we moved, caught like a wildfire out of control
'Til there was nothing left to burn and nothing left to prove

Against the Wind -- Bob Seger

Well I've long since retired, my son's moved away,
I called him up just the other day.
I said, "I'd like to see you, if you don't mind."
He said, I"d love to Dad, if I can find the time.
You see, my new job's a hassle and the kids have the flu,
But it's sure nice talking to you, Dad,
It's been sure nice talking to you."
And as he hung up the phone it occurred to me,
He'd grown up just like me, my boy was just like me.

Cat's In the Cradle......Harry Chapin

"How old do you think I am," he said?
I said, well, I didn't know.
He said, "I turned 65 about 11 months ago."

I was sittin' in Miami, pouring blended whiskey down
When this old gray, black gentleman was cleaning up the lounge.

There wasn't anyone around, except this old man and me.
The guy who ran the bar was watching Ironside on TV.

Maybe together we can get somewhere

Starting from zero got nothing to lose
Maybe we'll make something
But me myself I got nothing to prove

FAST CAR by Tracy Chapman

Twinkle, twinkle lucky star
Can you send me luck from where you are

Can you make a rainbow shine that far
Twinkle, twinkle lucky star.

Can you really make a wish come true
And do you shine on just a chosen few

Is it over, have I gone to far
Twinkle, twinkle lucky star
-
Like two ships on the ocean, we drifted apart
And you found an island at sea

I'm still adrift with this pain in my heart
Won't you send her sweet love back to me

Twinkle, twinkle lucky star

Twinkle, twinkle lucky star
Can you send me luck from where you are

Can you make a rainbow shine that far
Twinkle, twinkle lucky star.
