9/11?
I will spend the early morning hours in quiet contemplation of what transpired 9 years ago, while drinking my coffee on the front porch and being thankful to be capable of doing so.
At the appropriate hour I will spend 5 minutes in silence to honor all of those who died that day, and each day following it to this day.
From my home I fly the American flag almost every day, 24 hours a day, and it is lit at night.
I am adding 6 more flags to the customary one for tomorrow only, as a special token of the appreciation I hold for the sacrifices the men and women who have died have made; civilian and military.
At some point during the day I will view the video footage that will be played by the media throughout the day. . .

I did so when my neighbor's grandson was KIA'd in Afghanistan last month; from the day I fist heard it to the day after his burial. I'm sure my neighbors wondered why. . .

It's my goddaughter's birthday, so we'll be celebrating life in that respect. I know that the events of 9/11 will be on everyone's mind and I wonder if the kid can truly have a happy birthday. She turns 18 today.
We also have a soccer game today. Again, celebrating life and normalcy...we weren't defeated.
My daughter was small when this happened and although she vaguely remembers, I want to spend some time watching some of the coverage with her. We do this every year and it always leads to awesome conversations.
I not going to do nothing special. Other than think all of those poor people who hadn't did a damn thing to anyone would be killed by some crazy raghead Muslims killers and corporate greed.
You say corporate greed Troll, your out out your mind. Well it was corporate greed. For years and years the FAA and other people tried to get the airlines to put armor doors on cabins of the planes. They refused and never did the right thing and put those doors on, because it would cost to much money for each plane.
Just think all of those people were killed by some crazy Muslims with BOX KNIFES, just opening the cabin doors and walking in and taking the plane over. In one plane just walking in and cutting the pilot throat.
Plus it pisses me off way we kiss everybody's ass, afraid we'll hurt some poor Muslim's feelings. :mad: :angry:

Me too! It's an amazing place. My daughter still talks about it.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist and I'd really like to think the events on flight 93 happened exactly as they've said, buuuuuuuuut I was listening to the news very closely that day. At the time, I was in a location somewhat between DC and NY and PA wasn't very far away. I was separated from my children, they were at school and I was terrifed that I'd never see them again. I was paying attention to EVERY word. After the attack on the WTC, then the Pentagon, the newscaster commented on a plane which wasn't responding to calls from jets dispatched from Andrews AFB. Although admittedly, thinking back it's fuzzy and there was a lot going on that day so it was difficult to follow. I remember thinking at the time that there was a 4th plane. Now, in the back of my mind, I wonder if the jets didn't take care of Flight 93 and it has been covered up because American citizens would have been appauled to think we'd intentionally kill American citizens, regardless of the reason.

I highly doubt that was the case. Had one of the scrambled jets splashed flight 93, it would have exploded mid air, and the debris field would have been substantially larger. Given that it was fairly compacted its pretty clear it went down nose first and in one piece upon impact.

There is no why to tell if the plane was shot down or not. It went straight vertically in. It made the same imprint in the ground as the one plane made in the side of the tower.
I knew a man who work of the crash sight of the Tell City, Indiana plane crash. The plane went in vertically in. He said, that at about 20 feet there was a ball of human pulp and smash up bone. They probably found the same thing a the site we are talking about. Hardly no debris field.

Which is exactly my point. Had the passenger plane been hit with a sidewinder or even just hit with the guns, it would have exploded or broken up mid air, and left a much larger debris field.

This being the case, to Sandy's point, while doing some searching for the above video links to demonstrate what happens to an aircraft when it is shot down (cannon or missile fire), I discovered some information wherein Rummy actually said that flight 93 was shot down, and Faux news broadcast that supposed "fact" along with the London news agencies. . .
