From my beginings to where I am now, I think I have been very successful and lucky.  If I can live my years out like this, I'll be happy and pleased.  For so many years I really gave a damn what other people thought.  You know what, it didn't mean a damn thing.  Now I don't care what other people think and I practice the Golden Rule and if the people don't like that.  Welllllllllllllllllllllllll.

Any day I wake up with my rights intact, a roof over my head, food to eat, and still sucking air, I consider a success. It's all noise from there. . .

A happy healthy family and looking down at the grass instead of up at the grass.

My teenage daughter and I had this discussion.

My thoughts pretty much mirror yours and hers are much different. I guess mine were also at the age of 13. Eventuallu she'll learn what true success is and everything else is icing on the cake.
