A white Oakland California transit cop is caught on video tape shooting an unarmed black man laying on the ground, subdued by other transit cops. This murdering cop walks up, takes out his gun and cold bloodily shoot the guy laying on the ground
The all white jury in Los Angles, not from Oakland finds the murdering son of a bitch, guilty of manslaughter. What is wrong with the stupid all white jury, sons of bitches, not convicting the bastard with first degree murder.
What is so odd is that the news media says ex-cop. Well, he was a full fledged cop when he murdered the guy.
What is wrong with the American people to let these killer cops off. I would like to know how many people are killed each year by the SWAT teams, transit, hell, all of of the damn police. State, County, City, Town, FBI, ATF, Military Police and Corporation Security Police.
I'll bet the American people would be really surprised. If I was on the jury, I'd would have hung the jury with a first degree murder conviction.
I watched the videos of the incident several times the other day and I believe the cops story that he thought he was pulling out his taser. I think the mistake you're making is assuming that the cop has as much intelligence as you or I and, sadly, I doubt that is true for 99% of them. Involuntary manslaughter is probably the right verdict as I seriously doubt that anyone is stupid enough to pull out a gun and shoot a suspect in full view of a crowd of onlookers on purpose.

Come on guy, give me a break. You ever have held a gun or a taser. There is no way their the same. In weight or feel.
Who but a total brain dead asshole would put his taser so close to his pistol. When you really need a gun you pull your taser.
First of all he didn't know he was being taped. Second what in hell did he need to pull his weapon for. Hell the cops of the ground were having to much fun beating this guy up. I know for a fact that cops love to fight, especially when they got the person out numbered and cuffed.

In fact, I have held both; I was an M.P. in the Army. Most cops these days are carrying Glocks which all feel like toys to me but are similar in shape, size and weight to a taser pistol.
QuoteWho but a total brain dead asshole...
We're talking about cops here; remember?

Probably not but he damn sure knew he was surrounded by a fairly large crowd of witnesses.
They don't care when the adrenalin, hunter/prey and tunnel vision kicks in. Just look how many people they kill in car chases. Tunnel vision and the get they prey mode. Causing the prey to run over anything,.
I'm sorry but we'll just have to agree to disagree on this issue; I still don't believe anyone could be that stupid and still be able to dress himself.
I have to agree with Ex here. I also have held both and in the heat of a struggle, such as the one this officer involved was in, it is entirely possible to not notice much of a difference between the two weapons. . . If you watch the video you see the officers attempting to restrain the subject both step back away prior to the shot, as when a subject is going to be tased. . . Clearly both are surprised at the resulting report once he pulled the trigger.
Both have a very similar feel grip and weight wise, and while there is a slight difference that can easily be overlooked when the adrenalin begins pumping. . .
There are smart cops and there are muscle-heads; the smart ones get promoted up the ranks and off the general patrol squads, and the general ranks are comprised of muscle-heads. While they can bash your brains in with their bare hands, a lot of them can't find their ass if it is handed to them. . . which is why they are on the streets and in S.W.A.T.
Well, we will just have to disagree. But I still wonder if any of us were in a fight with a home invader on our front porch, by ourselves, alone and we shot him in the back and we told the police we were going for our taser, I wonder what would happen to us.

Too subjective of a question to answer, due to the varying state and city laws, etc. But here in Ander-tard, you'd be charged with unlawfully discharging a firearm in city limits, at a minimum. . .
Drag him into the house first then shoot his ass! (And you had better kill him or risk a civil suit).
And, you had better check local and state laws surrounding private ownership of a Taser or any similar device. Like firearms, they are severely restricted. . .(Meaning only that a criminal is more likely to own one than a law abiding citizen). . .
I can say some of the best money I have spent, was my Life Time Personal Carry Permit. I even got one for my wife . Because if she was stopped and they found one of my hidden guns. I didn't want her to be charged with having a gun without a permit.
I would have to admit that my Colt 45 filled with Black Talon bullets would wiegh more than a Glock and a Taser.
Home invaders don't come to my house; there are easier targets.

Love that smile! :icon_twisted:
As an aside, everyone should remember that you can't have manslaughter without laughter.

Hey, Extermination, are you sure that ain't an alligator and you bob his tail and painted him black and tan.
You want to see gator jaws? Come see my lil puppy!
My dog has an intimidating look. It's almost like the one in Ex's picture. Just make the ears a lil' more floppy, and turn the lips up around the corners so that he looks like he's grinning...oh! and the tail must be wagging and a lil' bounce would be just perfect...okay, not intimidating...unless you're a squirrel. ;D
I think Benji would defend us, especially if my daughter were here, but I'll never be in a position to get such a beautiful picture of him w/that stance. If Benji EVER reacts like that, I'm sure I'd better be moving quickly 'cause something is REALLY wrong.
My wife hates it, but if I tell my lil puppy to "make bite face" he'll make a very similar face to Ex's dog. . . (I just get yelled at every time I make him do it). . .
