I've been with my current company for about 12 years, so it's been a long time since I've had to truely compete for an opening. I do see resumes from time to time and quote honestly, they're just your normal run-of-the-mill type resumes (barring the occassional attempt at humor or the non-attempt at humor which is hilarious anyway), but nothing like these.
So, can we thank the economy, job market or automation for this surge in creative competition?
The most creative resume that I've personally seen, was a young man with a body billboard type thing (the kind that hangs over the shoulders and has a board on the front and back) with his resume in large print on both sides. He was a financial analyst and he was standing on a busy corner where major bank and stock HQs were, downtown, at lunch. He had a normal version of his resume on nice paper, a business card w/picture and disc version of his resume. I don't know if he got a job, but I did stop and speak to him and he said that he'd had a lot of positive conversations.
Seriously, I look at these and I hope that I don't ever need to compete against these folks.
