This crap right here is a prime example of the demographic to which Fox News caters. They are incessantly pandering to the religious right in this country and their political agenda. Fox News isn't news people. I don't know how many examples we have to cite to get you to see that.
Brit Hume gave HIS opinion on what Tiger should do.............Big deal...........honestly if you don't like Fox News .....don't watch it.
every TV has a channel selector....use it....pretty simple.
btw, fox news is by far the leading news channel outlet......there is a reason for this.
people LIKE it...and the tune in to it.
btw, WHY is it crap for Hume to say HIS opinion on Tiger becoming a Christian?
it is called Freedom of Speech.....THAT is what he is exercising.
I don't have a problem with people exercising their right to state an opinion. The problem is, there are way too many out there who see the collective "opinions" of Fox as absolute truths and they're not. Fox needs to stop calling what they're airing "news" and call it for what it is. 24/7/365 opinions. Not news by a long shot.
I think Tiger should become a Christian so that he can be a hypocrite just like all of the rest of them.

How many times do you have to have the 'argumentum ad populum' logical fallacy explained to you?
If Fox News is the leading news channel, it is only because half of the population is, by definition, below average intelligence and they all watch it exclusively whereas viewers with above average intelligence typically get their news from a variety of different sources.
I think of a million things to say but your comments are always better. :biggrin:

That is merely what you think.....these people that you are referring too, have minds and use them, and elect to dial in to Fox News....if the alternative was NOT so blatantly biased to the left, they would probably gain some share, but there IS a reason WHY Fox is number one.

Nope, as a group, people who watch Fox don't know the difference between 'too' and 'to', 'they're' and 'their', 'seen' and 'saw' or 'was' and 'were'.

I would beg to differ HH. I've chatted with many of the Fox News faithful and not very many of them have impressed me with their acumen. They don't want to bother to think. That's why the religious right would rather watch Fox. Fox spoon feeds them what they want to hear as is cited in the example above by Hume.
As far as them being number one, I'll refer you to Ex's explanation of the Appeal to Popularity fallacy. :wink:
Oh,well, then...if you chatted with some folks then YOU must be right then... :razz:

How pompous is it of Brit Hume to suggest that Xtianity is the best way for Tiger to recover from this mess. You don't need any religion to have compunction, to be contrite, to seek to be a better person, and to seek forgiveness from those you've wronged. What an ass he is to state that.

I agree, Tiger is a big boy, but Brit was only giving some very sound advice....an option that carries a lot of creed....imo (please don't confuse this with those who only claim to be christian and don't follow their own advice....)

He didn't say it was the best, it was just HIS opinion of what Tiger shoud/could do...if that make Brit and ass, then it makes me one too...because, IF (and when... :razz: ) Tiger asks for my advice, that is probably where I would first begin.... :wink:

Let's try this, two newscasters or at least one sportscaster and one news;
Howard Cosell calling a black football player "a quick little monkey" EQUALS hume-ass calling woods to "turn to christianity as the ONLY way he can get forgiveness and recover from the scandal".
They are both opinions, and perhaps with good intentions both, but if you can't see the stupidity of hume-ass's statement, then you really are an idiot. The christian majority that, like you, that think hume is "right on" make me sick and embarrass me as an American.

first of all, he did NOT say that was the ONLY way...he said that turning to the Christian faith could offer a complete recovery and be a great example to the world...because of it's power of redemption and forgiveness....he mere offered a proven solution....Hume is 100% right on, and quite frankly I really don't care IF i make you sick or embarrassed, I, from the bottom of my heart, honestly and truthfully don't....you have only once again proved how foolish YOU are, with such a asinine example....you have such a hatred towards Christians it is almost comical....I feel rather sad for you.....but, then again, I really don't...never mind.

...and just a reminder, numbnuts;
Hume: "The extent to which he can recover seems to me depends on his faith. He is said to be a Buddhist. I don't think that faith offers the kind of redemption and forgiveness offered by the Christian faith. My message to Tiger is, 'Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.'"

Middle finger length has the strongest correlation coefficient for spouse selection. Obviously we don't go around measuring each others middle fingers, but it is the strongest correlation. So, do you think it is important to choose another correlation, when it is obvious; the dumber you are, the more likely you are to need an imaginary friend, OR, the smarter you are, the more likely you are to know better.
