In all seriousness, she deserved what she got. Her behavior was totally unacceptable.
I totally agree.
Well isn't that the American way these days? You don't like something or you think someone did you wrong, so you throw a 2 year old's tantrum as an adult?
I'm trying to remember if MacEnroe ever lost a match because he threw one of his conniption fits. Does anybody recall?
I'm not excusing her, just pointing out it is nothing new.
I don't ever recall McEnroe threatening to take "this 'effin ball and shove it down your 'effin throat."
Besides, Serena had already been warned once in this match for slamming her racket into the ground and breaking it after a previous disagreement with a linesman. They didn't charge her the point (resulting in the loss of the match) strictly for this one incident. Like I said, she got what she deserved.
In fairness, here's McEnroe. He goes off, but he doesn't threaten anyone physically like Serena did.
I don't follow tennis but I can't remember anyone other than John McEnroe behaving like that until Miss Williams. It reall isn't their fault, you know, they probably had difficult childhoods. ;D
