Anybody here planning to update their mac to this version?

I haven't even had the time to explore the benefits of doing the upgrade.

I haven't even had the time to explore the benefits of doing the upgrade.
Safari is supposed to be faster, pdf viewing faster, stacks improved. . . Supposed to be improved function on most apps. . .
I'd have to go from Tiger to Leopard first, then Sno Leopard. . .
I just bought my son a new Apple, yesterday at Best Buy.......is this something we need to explore?

Depends on which one you bought. The improvements do not apply to some models because of the processor used in them. Apple.com will tell you more. On the plus side of this, if the model you bought is one that can take advantage of the improvements, the upgrade will cost you 10 bucks. Period.

Yes, and you can pick it up for only $9.95 since you've made a recent purchase and the hardware is compatible.
Hank you need to use that thing for about a week or two. That way you can get hooked and go out and buy one for you! :icon_twisted:
Which Mac you buy the child????
Frees up 7GB of space on your hard drive too!

I already am!!...the salesman was a man around our age, and was 100% sold on Apple....he really gave us a nice demo and the advantages of them....the problem IS....BOTH my son's have them now, and I now have two "used" Compaq's...that run like crap compared to the Apples....but they are on my wish list of things to buy.
I think they may already be loaded with it...I went to best buy website and cut-n-paste the one that we purchased:
Apple® - MacBook® Air with 13.3" Display
Model: MB543LL/A | SKU: 9119633
ENERGY STAR Qualified
Intel® Core™2 Duo mobile processor 1.6GHz; 2GB DDR2 SDRAM; 120GB hard drive; built-in webcam; Bluetooth; built-in AirPort Extreme (802.11n);
Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard" 8)
That's Leopard. Not Snow Leopard.
And your hardware will support the upgrade for $9.95.
;) Gotcha...
I will tell my son about this tonight.... :)
thx

Nope. Not available until this Friday, but you can pre-order. You can definately get the upgrade though:
General Requirements:
Mac computer with an Intel processor
1GB of memory
5GB of available disk space
DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
Some features require Apple's MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.

But you'll have to get an external disc drive to load it.
Why the external drive to load it?
But do you do Macs?

Oh, I didn't see he was using an Air. I just looked at the processor spec.

I would think they could just download it on line for people that own Air, but guess not. . .

Got something against Scotts?
Speaking of Mac's.............have you ever eaten there?..........there used to be one in Anderson, but it closed several years ago...they have them in Muncie....and I went there Sunday to buy my Son a "real" mac....and then, Ironically enough, we went to Macs and ate.....they have a delicious tenderloin sandwich there....
so, Pari, are you SURE you don't do Mac's?....

Yup. I've ate there a couple of times and it isn't bad. Love the tenderloin.
