I love the Stones! Didn't a comedian say that in the event of nuclear attack the only thing left would be cockroaches and Keith Richards?

Bill Hicks said that.  And BTW, the lunacy of Bill Hicks is partly responsible for my own.  His DVD entitled Sane Man is an example of our mutual insanity.

Must see.  The first time I heard one of his CD's, I was amazed that he said so many things that deep down I've always felt.

Sane Man is a DVD.  Very good.  His other DVD is also good.    If you want a CD, I'd recommend Rant in E-Minor and Arizona Bay, but all are good.  It's a different type of comedy that your typical relationship or dick joke commentary.

There's a couple of websites with some quotes so you can get a taste test before you buy.  I must say many quotes don't do it justice though.  It needs to be heard.  You can see most of his stuff at www.youtube.com

The websites are descriptive enough that I'll buy.  Kinnison and Pryor influenced?  Against consumerism?  Right up my alley.....

Thanks....this is going to be a great roadtrip between the music and comedy!!!

QuoteKinnison and Pryor influenced?

Pryor yes.  Kinnison and Hicks were actually both members of the Outlaws of Comics, a Houston based group I believe.  According to the book I'm reading, Kinnison made it big first but didn't carry the message of the Outlaws while he was in the spotlight.

Care to elaborate more in this group?

From what I've read, it included Kinnison, Hicks, and several other lesser known comedians that played mainly in and around Houston.  They were heavy drinkers (one show they did for free to pay off a previous bar tab that was in the thousands of dollars) and some were coke heads.  I don't know that much about them, just that they were wild and loved the art of stand-up using it to point out hypocrisy and evils they saw in the world.
