My point is that Republicans talk a good talk, but thats about it. When its time to actually deliver on ANYTHING they supposedly stand for, they come up woefully wanting.

Statement from First Lady Jenny Sanford
I would like to start by saying I love my husband and I believe I have put forth every effort possible to be the best wife I can be during our almost twenty years of marriage. As well, for the last fifteen years my husband has been fully engaged in public service to the citizens and taxpayers of this state and I have faithfully supported him in those efforts to the best of my ability. I have been and remain proud of his accomplishments and his service to this state.

I personally believe that the greatest legacy I will leave behind in this world is not the job I held on Wall Street, or the campaigns I managed for Mark, or the work I have done as First Lady or even the philanthropic activities in which I have been routinely engaged. Instead, the greatest legacy I will leave in this world is the character of the children I, or we, leave behind. It is for that reason that I deeply regret the recent actions of my husband Mark, and their potential damage to our children.

His career is toast, and burnt toast at that, and the only way she's getting funded for her future is by tossing the rascal out on his 6! I bet the ink is already dry on the paperwork!

I have heard that there is a law in SC that you can take your wife to the county courthouse on the first Saturday of each month and legally beat them.  I wonder if that law goes the other way too?

Actually, I was just reading that link and you can get the same penalty for fornication in SC.  ;D

Those fine legislators in SC don't like no aduterin', no fornicatin', and no prostitutin' in their fine state so much so that they codified it.  :rotfl:

Wonder if the good gubna now regrets voting to impeach Clinton when he was in Congress?

Their statements are bullshit. How can you be working on your marriage/goin' to counseling/etc. when the bastard was there THIS WEEK boinking his mistress??

Claps to the first lady though for tossin' him out two weeks ago. Im thinking Pale is right, they's headed for a dee-vorce.

And before any of you claim this is an isolated incident, they did the same with Mark Foley.  Yep, a "D" where the "R" should be.

It would be funny if it weren't so dangerous and so many simpletons didn't believe everything that this network reports as the gospel.

Some years back my friends and I were making lists of all the presidents who got a little something on the side. We realized it would be easier to make a list of those who didn't. We came up with one name: Richard Nixon. ... until one of the guys pointed out we were forgetting Bebe Rebozo.

Not true either. Jackson's wandering eye (yeah the third one) was quite the fodder for Washington's gossip mongers in the press. They just didn't come right out with it but rather, "beat around the bush". . . Why do you think he was so fond of dueling?

It's ridiculous the argument that Republicans are hypocrites because they preach morality and then fail themselves. It's better to at least try to set moral standards for yourself than to not even try, and that's what a lot of Dems do. They don't even pretend to be moral.

Not practicing what you preach is the definition of hypocrisy, sugar, as FTW points out. You would probably have better luck being taken seriously if you would look the words up before you use them. Maybe Santa will bring you a dictionary this year.
