A restaurant delivery truck with ties to Indianapolis had its load of 400 pounds of meat confiscated and taken to a landfill in western Indiana after health officials determined the cargo was not being cooled.
Officials said they had to toss the assorted meats -- such as chicken, clams, fish and other seafood -- which were bound for Asian restaurants in Terre Haute. The temperature should have been 40 degrees or cooler. Instead, Vigo County health officials said it was 72 degrees and that the refrigeration cooling unit had been placed in the "off" position, which prevented continuous cooling.. . .
. . .He was issued citations by Indiana State Police for seatbelt violation and not speaking English, which is required by Federal Motor Carrier Standards. The driver was then removed from service.
So. . . no chinese take out for awhile eh? :biggrin:
