Anyone out there enjoy Star Trek? I talked my husband into going to the new Star Trek prequel tonight and it was very enjoyable. Funny in a lot of places, lots of action and good special effects. Even had my picture taken in Captain Kirk's chair!!! :) ($5 donation to Hopewell) Local Trekkie club out in costume. An enjoyable evening.
Sounds like fun; care to post the picture here for us? I look forward to the movie-- when I can watch it here at home! I remember a bunch of us gathering around the TV in the lounge in our dorm at Ball State to watch Star Trek's first episodes in '66. We had no idea that we were watching the birth of a cultural phenomenon. And the special effects were almost nonexistant!
That beaming up looked pretty special to me. But then again...i was only 5. LOL
Don't know about posting the picture, I'll have to figure out how. They even had a tribble, a phaser, and a communicator. They went all out for the picture bit. I watched all or the original Star Trek series, I remember after about four or five episodes we went to my parents to watch it on their color tv to see if Mr. Spock was green. I liked Star Trek TNG, too, but never did get into the other spin offs. It was fun and some of the Trekkies really get into it. I am going to send a copy of the picture to our son, he will really think I have gone over the edge ;D
I think the one about the tribbles was probably my favorite episode of Star Trek. Those little things were so cute....
me: I bet you think squirrels are cute, too! Damn tree rats; if they had nekkid tails like possums and mice, there'd probably be a bounty on the little buggers. At least they don't breed like Tribbles.
I think they're cute as long as they're not digging in my barrel, flowers, or garden.

Hey, I was supposed to go to Ball State too until our mom hauled us to California. My husband is a Trekkie and has every book written that is Star Trek related. I suppose I will be seeing the movie this weekend. Good way to catch the Swine Flu if it's around, I suppose.
