That's an Indiana bird, you know. How sweet is he?
No, he is a bird who has rhythm and keeps the beat. I want one!
That IS the cutest thing! He's totally rocking out!
He's adorable. I want one too.

No you don't; keeping something captive that was meant to soar on the wind is cruel.
Ahhh, good point  Although do you think that breeding has caused these birds to become domesticated similar to the way other animals have?

Just because they've never been allowed to fly doesn't mean they weren't intended to.
I don't disagree. I wasn't seriously wanting a bird and aside from some farm animals haven't ever owned one...I was caught up in the cuteness and happiness of this little fella. To take the freedom of flying away from these animals should be a crime. Although, it's not just the birds that have experienced stolen freedom.

Agreed.
This is the only thread that seems appropriate for this story about our zoo elephant, Bunny.

Ya see, we did set her free.
Great story: ;D
And we're experiencing more loss of freedom daily.
But, I think this is a happy little bird who loves to dance. He taught himself, obviously and is enjoying the hell out of the music. He's well fed, well sheltered and doesn't have to worry about predators.
Unlike me; I'm pretty well sheltered and probably overfed, but the predators are on my mind a good bit of the time. :spooked:

what is the Democrat position on abortion and gay marriage Bo? I know what it is don't you know. You know the position of the Reps. too we have been clear on them. The reps believe in less gov and dems think more gov control. Sooooooooooo? Aren't these the issues that help us to decide which party we will join? Just like a church or a club, you get together with those who have similar beliefs of yours. So???? I will not apologize for what my positions or opinions are, and I will not ask you to apologize either. To each his own! I try not to put people down for their opinions. I do get rowdy when they are abusive, bashing, vulgar and attack me personally for my opinions. That is a two-way street to me. I have no trouble stating my opinion and listening to yours. I know that nothing will probably change, don't care. Just like hearing what others think. I'm just asking that you don't attack me for my opinion just because you don't agree with it. But, by all means state you opinion all you like.

I'm pretty sure that the dem position on these two issues is to let people make these decisions for themselves whereas the republican position is to restrict their rights. How does that equate to your claim that the republicans believe in less government control?

This is not about opinions. It is about your hypocritical statement "And you are a typical Democrat: Trying to tell everyone else what to think and do."
The two Republican policies I pointed out illustrate the fact that Republicans do indeed "tell everyone else what to think and do."

Okay I will chime in....those two issues...I'll address..
Abortion...we simply feel that there is a Life that NEEDs protected......
Gay Marriage...we simply want "marriage" defined between a man and a woman....
the democrats however...want to control...BANKS, THE AUTO INDUSTRY, and I'm sure the OIL INDUSTRY, HOW WE EAT, WHAT WE EAT, WHAT WE LISTEN TO (fairness doctrine), WHAT GUNS WE HAVE, WHO GETS HIRED, WHAT WE DRIVE...AND ON AND ON AND ON.

I think you are wrong ther Bo....I have no proof...but, I could care less what they do...I simply feel, marriage needs to be defined and protected.....I know this sounds trivial...but it is important to the Grand Scheme of things as far as I am concerned personally.

"President Bush, on national TV, explicitly repudiated the 2004

"
rejecting so-called "civil unions" for homosexuals: "We further believe that legal recognition and the accompanying benefits afforded couples should be preserved for that unique and special union of one man and one woman which has historically been called marriage."
"Now, make no mistake about it, President Bush's blatant repudiation of the Republican Party Platform's position on "civil unions" --- his endorsement of "civil unions" --- is, for all practical purposes, a de facto endorsement of homosexual marriage, regardless of what he says. It was a slap in the face of all the Christians who supported him because they thought he was a strong backer of traditional man/woman only marriage."

THAT is all fine and good Bo...I'm speaking for myself.....and though I support SOME republicans...and have voted for mostly republicans....it does NOT mean that I am a republican....I do NOT agree with everything they stand for....but I prefer their overall stance to the opposing party.
