Senator Arlen Specter expected to announce today that he's changing parties. (http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/04/28/specter.party.switch/index.html)
he is a slimy politician....looking out for his career instead of looking out for his constituents...THIS is NOT a surprise...he has been a Rino for several years now.
Maybe he just doesn't like being associated with LOSERS!

Maybe he just doesn't like being associated with LOSERS!
he knows he will NOT win another Republican Senate position....so, he is going over to 'snow' the dems to try to keep his job...
Yes, as a republican he would be a LOSER!
In a March 17th interview (http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/specter-wont-rule-out-run-as-an-independent-2009-03-17.html) with The Hill, Specter said he absolutely would not switch parties:
"I'm staying a Republican because I think I have a more important role to play there," he said. "I think the United States very desperately needs a two-party system. ... And I'm afraid that we're becoming a one-party system, with Republicans becoming just a regional party."[/i]...."I think each of the 41 Republican senators, in a sense — and I don't want to overstate this — is a national asset," he said, "because if one was gone, you'd only have 40, the Democrats would have 60, and they would control all of the mechanisms of government."
I guess being a liar allows him to fit right in with the democrats....

Or maybe a month later, he's learned some things and changed his mind.
Never had that happen before? Believe you were firm on something, then just changed your mind when shown you maybe shouldn't be so firm?

I understand your analogy Pari....but in this case...it is an old man, who had betrayed the repubs on a few issues....and knows all too well, that he will NEVER get re-elected again with the repubs in PA......so, he sold himself out....that is clearly what is going on...

Uh, that would require him to have an open mind.

You're high; I'm always learning new things.
Specter has always been a Democrat. No loss there.

Really? If he switches parties it cements the Democratic majority in the Senate. Somehow I thought you would consider that a loss.
Politicians with no integrity.....isn't that special.
Maybe he's changed his mind. He was still elected by to represent PA as a republican senator. If he had any integrity, he would resign.
Another case of....the needs of the one outweighing the needs of the many. He has chosen what he believes is best for him, not the people he was elected to represent.
What? LMAO Did WND tell you that? Well they lied to you girl..Specter a democrat..now that's funny!
