Title: Expensive day
Post by: Mr442 on April 13, 2009, 11:21:07 AM
My youngest son and I took his 66 Fairlane down to Chandler IN, to do a little racing last Saturday.  On the first pass, the car spun the tires off the line, but still managed an 8.68 @ 81 mph in the 1/8 mile.  On the second pass, we dropped the air in the slicks down to 14 psi for more bite.  Bite we wanted, bite we got.  Twisted the tailshaft off in the transmission, which took out the yoke and tail housing as well.

We pushed the car on the trailer and headed home, only to have a trailer tire blow out a little later.

But in spite of everything, we had a good time on a nice day.

Here is a link to a pic of him in action on the first pass.

Cool! Been a long time since I rode in a car that smashed you back into the seat like a fat lady sittin' on your chest.

Glad you were able to enjoy the day in spite of the misfortune.
