You have a HE and a HIS in your response but I'm not sure which "he" you are talking about.   I'm not clear as to what you have a problem with or who it is exactly you have a problem with.

For crying out loud...you complain that they got the bonuses and now you're complaining because they're taking them back.  You just like to bitch.

sorry kimmi....it is a little wordy....but my biggest problem is with Dodd...but, I think Obama has every chance in the world to do the RIGHT thing and speak out against this.....

let me ask you...first of all, can you see where Dodd is wrong, and where congress is wrong for passing such a bill, because of their very own mistake?...

I don't like a bill that over taxes bonuses but it is like that now anyway.  I guess I would be a little more pissed if my bonus was more than $1500 a year when EARNED.

They all screwed up.  Let them sort it out.  As long as they aren't knocking at my door to buck up, I don't care how they fix it.

CONGRESS SCREWED UP...yeah, I think the bonuses may be wrong...but that deal was already done....

and the way congress is trying to fix it is wrong.....let's just pose a tax on whatever we want for as much as we want with NO oversight committee or anything....c'mon EX, you know this is wrong.

So by bitching on a forum you are doing something?  I'm sorry that is about as useful as herpes when it comes to fixing the economic situation that the US is in.  Have fun with that and I hope you see results.

I have no problem with it whatsoever.  Those people on Wall Street produce nothing and their greed is the direct cause of our economic problems.  Giving the taxpayers' money to the very people responsible for abusing the securities market and causing AIG's collapse is obscene and I don't care what they have to do to get it back.

isn't that what MOST people do on here?...is bitch?...it was like that for the last eight years.....funny, now that people have legitmate reasons to bitch about a president of a political party...it is just we are "bitchin"?  ;D

Why in the world would you think I'm offended.  I'm not.

My point is, don't question whether I'm just going to sit and let things happen when your only solution to this outrage is to sit on a forum and bitch.  Yes that is what these places are for.

so when they do something wrong or we disagree with, we should just sit back and say...oh well?

The fact that you couldn't find a "legitimate reason" to bitch for the past 8  years speaks volumes about why you finally found your voice.

In other words, considering the fact that our past president and co is to blame for the state our country is in now, economically, diplomatically, and physically, then your only reason to bitch now is because you're determined to find fault, no matter what happens during Obama's presidency.

I'll save myself some time  That goes for you too, me, gardengirl, mcgonser and doc

Hum, let me see.  She didn't say it but, even though it's unconstitutional, they're going to start taxing at a 90% rate for those bonuses that were given by AGI.  One example of, "we can do what we want".  Actually it's any bonuses "they" feel is excessive given by any company that receives TARP money.  These are contracted bonuses that they knew existed and should have dealt with them before this TARP money was given not now after the fact. No, those companies should not have given those bonuses but that is no way to rectify something that was an oversight on their part to begin with.  There is no thought behind anything that's going on in Congress lately it's just we have to get this passed before people find out what's really in it.  Seems to be total chaos and self serving and they aren't even trying to hide it anymore.  Meetings behind closed doors, bills being rushed through and Obama being pressured into signing them and him just grinning and signing taking their word for what's in them and us finding out after the fact.  Don't give me that "but Bush" crap.  If he had been letting this kind of crap go on you all would have been screaming like banshee's and you know it.

The Federal Reserve Board on Tuesday, with the full support of the Treasury Department, authorized the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to lend up to $85 billion to the American International Group (AIG) under section 13(3) of the Federal Reserve Act. The secured loan has terms and conditions designed to protect the interests of the U.S. government and taxpayers.
