I realize that since its inception, this forum has accumulated a diverse (to put it mildly) group of followers scattered from one coast to the other; while a group of us joined up at the first of this year when the Anderson (Ind.) paper dropped its "Hey Martha" forum. I've been wondering: where do these folks I've come to know call home? Ma and I have our tent pitched just east of Anderson, fairly close to Mounds State Park. Anyone else want to play?
Raleigh, North Carolina
I'm originally from NWPA.
I'm in San Diego (hence the name ). I'm originally from Southern WV w/quite a few Maryland years in the middle. I'm glad you found us Pa. I enjoy your posts and sense of humor.
I'm in the south central part of Anderson. Started out in Wyoming then Muncie, a brief stint in Texas, and now here.
To many places to mention have been my home. . . but now its South Anderson.
Born in Chicago! 8)
born in Anderson Indiana....grew up in Alexandria....got married and moved back to Anderson....got divorced and moved back to Alexandria. Meet my now hubby in Alex...moved to Anderson...got married...moved to Frankton for a few years and now I live almost smack dab in the middle of Anderson
Oklahoma, the nw part and loving it.
Smokeycat, you just can't make a clean getaway, can ya?
I have lived in Anderson now for quite some time. matter of fact....I bought a home about a year and a half ago...so I don't plan on going anywhere. This house was originally a school...built in 1890...solid as heck...I can't see it going anywhere...but if it does I think I would still stay here in Anderson.
I have lived in or around Anderson for almost 58 years, almost my entire life. Right now I live in the same neighborhood I grew up in which is across the street from Kohls.
Lived in the South Madison School district almost ALL of my life...
Born and raised in Indianapolis but haved lived in several different places in the U.S. and Europe. Accidentally bought a house on the North side of Anderson (VanBuskirk Heights) in the 90's; sold it and moved back south to civilization several years ago.
Ex: How far south from Vanbuskirk do ya have to travel to reach civilization, anyway? ;)
How do you accidentally buy a house?
Scratch yer head when the auctioneer's looking right at ya?
I live a few blocks east and then north of smokeycat. But I never wanted to call Anderson my home.
Started out born in Ft. Wayne, my father was in the army so we landed in Germany until I was 2 1/2, then Kansas, California and Utah. sometime in 1965 we moved back to Frankton (where my dad grew up) and from 1969 until 1979 I was between where ever my mom lived (Upland, Marion, Jax Fla) and Frankton. Moved to Alex when I got out of school, then traveled the US for a short time, back to Jax, then back to Frankton, then back to Jax for 5 years, then back Frankton, then a couple of months in Anderson, then Summitville, then back to Jax for another 5 years, then Nashville Tenn. In 1994 my youngest son passed away, so we sent him to be buried in Alex where my fathers family and my oldest son is buried (and now my father). So I landed in Anderson when I didn't feel like Nashville was that fresh start we wanted any longer. I've been unable to get out of Anderson since I got here. :(

By throwing demographics into the wind.
Born at Methodist Hospital in Indy, but our residence was in McCordsville. Soon we moved to Noblesville for a short time, then to the Pendleton area where I spent my formative years. In 1972, at the end of my Jr. year of high school at PHHS, we moved to Montezuma, IN where dad had purchased a laundromat. After finishing high scool in Montezuma (think of the 50's, instead of the actual 70's) I started working for a large pharmecutical company just across the river in Vermillion county. I moved to Clinton, IN for a while, then Hillsdale after getting married, and finally to Dana, IN.
We had hoped to move towards Madison county by now, but recent economical changes have kept us in Dana for the time being.
Parianne: Lady, if you weren't born with gypsy blood in your veins, I think it would qualify as such by now!
haha Funny I was thinking the same thing!
You must be an expert packer!
LOL, I never had the wanderlust...I just followed the men in my life, or my parents. Now that I'm FINALLY on my own...I seem to be stranded.
Just where are you, anyway?
In the local vernacular; up the crick and without a paddle!
PH: Just hang on tight! Spring rains (literal and figurative) will have you down to the Ohio River in short order. 'Less you drown first.
North A-Town by way of A-Town, Lafayette, Albany NY, Mt Vernon IN, and back to A-town......you can take the boy out of mad-county but you can't take mad-county out of the boy!
Yeah, something always draws you back. Wish I was living in Frankton though. THAT'S where I consider my home town to be.
I'm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. :uns:
Locutus: You forgot to say "And lovin' it!"
...and lovin' it. ;D
< Locutus secretly wonders whether lovin' it will apply the next time a hurricane blows through. >
Only if you were planning on doing a little para-sailing about that time.

Do you cache, Pa?
No, but I stash: nickels, dimes, dollar bills...! :icon_twisted:
I got my money the old fashioned way; I stashed it!
Enid. Raised here. Left here a couple of dozen times. It keeps drawing me back like a bad penny.

There's a Flying Spaghetti Monster thread? Where? I just cannot get His Noodliness to show up for the bi-weekly ecumenical prayer breakfasts. Something about the sun and the yardarm.
Oh yeah, I'm in Evansville.
So is anti-pasta the adversary of the Flying Spaghetti Monster? ;D
I've previously mentioned where I'm from.
