The mayor of Las Vegas should piss up a rope. I don't think companies should be paying for trips to anywhere with taxpayer money, especially not somewhere associated with over-indulgence.

i agree, but the pres should, nip it all in the bud....but not say where they 'can or cannot' go....if I was the mayor, I would be pissed.....what if the pres would start telling ALL gov employees cannot skydive? or eat Lobster, or own German Shepards?

He is absolutely correct if he "would start telling ALL gov employees cannot skydive? or eat Lobster, or own German Shepards" on MY TAX MONEY!

That is part of the past problem!! There was no one to have balls enough to question the ethical decisions of taking week long romps in the Caribbean for "business" or buying extravagant Lear jets. I'm glad someone with some authority is asking the logic in this since the average person would not get answers to them!!
I don't think they should go anywhere on the tax payers dime myself.
Don't forget that some diplomatic travel is necessary, so is travel for training and to the scene of a disaster or to move troops here or there.

If you read Obama's statement, Las Vegas is simply used as an example so your argument that he is trying to tell anyone where he/she can or can't go is ridiculous.
