Title: PETA's Banned Super Bowl Ad
Post by: Locutus on January 30, 2009, 01:31:14 PM
Fox is refusing to air this commercial from PETA during the Super Bowl on Sunday evening.  It's a bit racy in my opinion, but nothing worse than some of the crap you see on Fox on some of their other programs.  I guess Fox doesn't allow for racy sexual content unless they themselves create it.     What say you?  DISCLAIMER:  Don't click if you have sensitive lil' tenders.

Maybe after the wardrobe malfunction (that probably no one noticed until they made a big deal out of it) they're being extra cautious.

I guess we're stuck w/geckos and frogs.

The way I understand it it's the Super Bowl that refused the ad not Fox but Fox did report on it.

It would be difficult for Fox to authorize inclusion or exclusion of a Superbowl commercial since it's being shown on NBC.

Actually, Ex is right about it being on NBC, and I'm right in that it was the network that pulled it.

NBC is not Fox.

No it isn't, but the point is still valid.  All of the networks air racy and sexually suggestive material all the time.  It's only ok to air it if they themselves produce it.  IIRC, Fox also nixed some ads last year, but I don't recall why.

I'm thinking they were some ads that were done by the ACLU and were very tasteless.  It was teenagers discussing oral sex as an alternative.

Well, ACLU don't make sense but at any rate they were very tasteless ads.  Don't know why I'm associating it with the ACLU

Maybe the leadership of NBC and the Superbowl are all carnivores that eat vegetarians?

Their decision aside, I have a strong dislike of PETA and their tactics. (But I do like this ad)

Whoa!  I think I'll stick to being carnivorous myself.....but next time any women mentions she is a vegetarian, I'll probably have to do a double take.

Maybe the majority of Pittsburgh Steelers fans would throw Iron City beer cans at the screen if some stupid PETA crap was on during their Super bowl!
