Title: The Beast - Patrick Swayze
Post by: Sandy Eggo on January 16, 2009, 10:33:14 AM
The last picture that I saw of him, he looked absolutely horrible. I didn't even realize that he was still acting since he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I didn't watch it, but I meant to, just out of curiosity really. I did see a trailer and it looks like a typical cop show, but he doesn't look ill at all.

Did anyone watch his new show on A & E last night?

It's on the DVR waiting for us to watch it.  I know what you mean.  Those tabloid pics looked pretty bad, and the previews had him looking healthy.  I'm guessing one or both sources did some photo shopping.

I have seen it advertised..........and he is very fortunate he is still alive...pancreatic cancer is one of the worst to have, and he is "beating" it, at least longer than most do.

I meant to record it, but I started talking on the phone with a friend and totally forgot. I hope they replay it.

Last I heard he had been admitted to the hospital with pneumonia a few days ago.

my mother in law was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in August of 2008.  She had the tail of her pancreas removed and a small bit of her stomach where the cancer had attached itself to it.  She has had the chemo and radiation and is now idle for a month before she starts back in again.  She has lost a lot of weight...she was only about 130 lbs. to start with but is down to about 95...and gets as low as 90 lbs.  She looks like hell....but is hanging in there.  Our biggest problem with her is she gets dehydrated a lot because she doesn't like to eat or drink because the radiation is so close to her stomach area that it causes her to have an upset stomach a lot.
